The woman on the poster is the actress who is actually playing the role of the model (I forget what the character's name is).

Everyone please welcome my new Macbook!

New hardware, new operating system. Which means I have a new learning curve.

Off to try to get things set up the way I like them, i.e., close to how they are on the Old Mac.

Congratulations, DR Jeanne!

I do hope a similar announcement from Yrs Truly will not be long in coming!

Well, it's time to go to the theater.  But first, I need to get a fire extinguisher for the theater.  We had an inspection today and they said that the extinguisher that we have is way out of date, so I'm off to Costco, then to the theater.

Be back later.

Got a question for DR Elmore (or his adopted son), and DR Matthew, since it's a question a player might ask of him.
Of course anyone may chime in!

In the third and fourth bars from the end of "The Sadder But Wiser Girl", flute and piccolo trill on an A-flat.  In this specific instance, given the absence of any other notation, what rule or guideline tells us whether they should trill to an A-natural or a B-flat?

Click to enlarge, and thank you all!    :)

Good evening. I voted today in our primary election. I also saw a gila monster today. These two things are not related.

I did not read.  The sun came out so I walked for half an hour, couldn't resist the clear weather.

An "ask BK" moment:

Did you ever know or work with Christopher Norris?

Ditto Moosie Drier?

I think I met Christopher Norris but never worked with her - and never knew Moosie.

Had a good meeting with the costume designer, had a sandwich for lunch (and therefore have to have something else at some point - probably just a salad thing), rearranged the second act of the LA show for the umpteenth time.  I've cut the one song and guess I have to break it to the songwriter - I may not, though, just in case something comes to me about how to make it work or if we're coming in short.  There are two other songs in danger, but I wrote a set-up to one of them that I think will make it work fine, and I'm going to try that with the other.

I googled "the London Look".  According to Urban Dictionary it is a term used to describe women with a gap in between their two front teeth.

Some of the images are truly unattractive.  This model seems to be rather popular.  Here is a decent photo.

Lauren Hutton would be a prime example.

Tonight's film is a new Criterion release (I think) called Casque D'Or with Simone Signoret in the Belle Epoque era. It's light and charming now, but the box says it will turn tragic in due time.

There's a film version of Catch My Soul, the rock version of Othello? That Patrick McGoohan directed? The library has ordered a copy. It stars Richie Havens with Susan Tyrell and Season Hubley in it.
