I had dreams about my late Aunt Jean, Oxford, Ohio, a cafeteria accident, and a voice teacher last night.

Fortunately the threatened rain never came yesterday so no wet and muddy lawn and the day is beautifully sunny ( if a little colder than could be hoped)

Today I am seeing a matinee of the Jule Styne-Comden and Green-Garson Kanin "Do-Re-Mi." My friend Laura, who's the bitchy fiancee on my ROBERTA recording, is playing the Nancy Walker role.

Speaking of which, it's possible that the reason no one answered your called yesterday BK was because it was Good Friday, many businesses are closed , though they certainly should have had a recording stating the fact they were closed

DR ChasSmith, about those scene changes. They're probably all in the same key in score and parts to make it easy for student orchestra. It's that or it's a big error.

I wonder if they will have standing room tickets if they are sold out when I get there (if I get there, I really want to get there)

TOD:
I had to Google lists of top 70's hits because the 60s, 70s and 80s tend to all run together. It was interesting to see how the very early 70s was mostly dominated by children with The Partridge Family, The Osmonds, and Jackson 5.
Elton John had a lot of great hits in the 70s like "Philadelphia Freedom," "Bennie and the Jets," and "Crocodile Rock." Diana Ross had some of my favorite songs: "Do You Know Where You're Going To" and "Touch Me in the Morning". Then there were one-hit-wonders like Gilbert O'Sullivan with "Alone Again Naturally" - also one of my favorites of that decade.
As previously mentioned by others here, John Denver had several hits, along with Olivia Newton John, and The Carpenters, the Bee-Gees, and Helen Reddy, but they weren't my favorites. I did like Carole King quite a bit.
People who were trying to ditch their past groups had quite a few hits in the 70s: Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr all did well, and Michael Jackson did one of my favorites songs, "Ben" as a solo artist.
There was also some real crap in the 70s like "Billy, Don't Be a Hero" and "Disco Duck."

Good Morning All:

TOD:

The 70's were probably my favorite time period for songs and songwriters.

CAROLE KING:  My favorite album of all time is TAPESTRY.
CAT STEVENS:  SONG:  FATHER AND SON.  I actually did a term paper on this song.
JAMES TAYLOR:  ALBUM:  SWEET BABY JAMES, FAVORITE SONG;  SWEET BABY JAMES, also love FIRE AND RAIN
ELTON JOHN: ALBUM:  GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD!!!

I loved Cat Stevens' albums and Don McLean; "American Pie" and its allusions is the song equivalent of James Joyce's Finnegan's Wake. Carole Kings was always amazing.

I also loved Janis Ian's "Between the Lines" and Dory Previn's "Mythical Kings & Iguanas": the despair and loneliness in "Lady with The Braid" still breaks my heart.

This morning I've been listening to the soundtrack album for NASHVILLE, which remains for me the greatest film of the 1970s  I'm sure a lot of the reason I chose it has to do with seeing BRIGHT STAR again this week, but listening to Ronee Blakely's "Idaho Home" and Barbara Harris' surprise star turn of "It Don't Worry Me" still move me to tears.

Tomorrow will be a ME day of leisurely work on music, followed by more movies.  I'm going to begin programming this Gypsy I'm playing, which isn't till July but it'll be a simple job and I will love knowing it's in the can so there's no pressure later.  I will also begin learning Do I Hear a Waltz?, the last of the three Encores! shows.  I look forward to that.  But Lordy, I also have to get off the dime and get my ticket for it.

I really love Rodgers' music for this show. Moon in My Window is one of my all-time favorite songs.

Our Good Friday service sounds very similar to yours, Vixmom. Maybe because of the Lutheran tradition.

I somehow have volunteered to make deviled eggs for Easter. I haven't made them in 30 years and forgot there are so many styles.

So, question for y'all: Pickle, relish or neither?

I agree with most of the names mentioned so far and would add Paul Simon, Laura Nyro, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello and Kris Kristofferson.

Yuck on both of those-lol.  I like mine with just mayo & mustard and sprinkled with paprika.  I also fill them full so there is leftover egg white halves.
