So now, I need to shower and shave (in that order), get something to eat (which will also allow my hair to dry), then get the haircut.

Be back later!

Well, I'm at the theater after showering and shaving (in that order), eating, but not haircut getting.  Unbeknownst to me, the place that I go for my quasi-semi-annual haircuts closes at 1:30 pm on Saturdays.  They otherwise close at 6:00 pm on weekdays, which is the time that I assumed that they closed today, but when I got there at about 3:30, they were closed.  But, I am at least shaved, which is half the hair battle.  :)

Interesting about Do-Re-Mi.  I should take the Phil Silvers cast album out and give it a listen.

I've never heard it.

He was kind enough to share the recipe. I always get compliments when I make them. And. Always make extraS for me!!!

What I love about good deviled eggs is that they also make really good egg salad sandwiches. :D

Good evening. I spent the day cooking various things. The young lady who is always in charge of the Easter breakfast at church gave birth a couple weeks ago, so she really didn't do any organizing this year. There were only a few dishes coming in, so I fixed stuff I thought would fill in the blank spaces.

I fixed a french toast casserole that has no meat so my daughter will have something to eat; I made biscuits and sausage gravy; I made three flavors of yogurt (the only way I can get my daughter to eat yogurt - no gelatin); I squeezed a lot of oranges for juice. I will put some steel-cut oats in the crockpot before I go to bed tonight for the people who insist on eating healthy on holidays.

They usually don't let me cook - they just leave the dishes for me.

DR Jennifer, speedy recovery from you coloring book injuries....don't mean to tease, It's something I could see happening to me. I'm sure it's painful and I do wish you a speedy recovery, but the idea of coloring causing injury made me giggle

So this time do you get to leave the dishes for someone else?  I hope so

Tomorrow I'm going to meet my family for brunch and then we'll get to see Samantha and Don's new lake home.  It's a second home for them and just up the street from my parents cottage.  Should be fun to see it.

I forgot that.  So how did you end up cooking?  Was it just something you wanted to do to help out?

Don't get me wrong, I would eat them as deviled eggs, too, but if but you're just not in the mood for a side dish and there are any left over, they can be cut up and put on bread (or some other edible holder) and be turned into a main food item ;D

Well we had rain and snow today.  It melted quite a bit of the snow we got, but there is still a lot on the ground.  I had a couple limbs down from the weight of the snow, but no other damage.  Luckily tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warmer. I'm very glad about that

The friend who works with me hosting the outside groups that meet at the church suggested we offer to set up this year, since the young woman is busy with a newborn this year.

My neighbor told me about a new cat sitter named Shelly.   I hadn't called yet and think I may have lost the number.  Today he saw me and said he talked to Shelly to see if I can called. He told her my name and she said "I know her!!"   Turns out she's the same Shelly who has been an interpreter for me on a number of cases over the past 10 years.   I was so happy to hear that.  She's someone I would definitely trust and who I think would be great with my cats.  She stays and reads for an hour or so, just so the cats have some company and can calm down.  This is a huge relief as I just booked travel plans for me to take my parents to my nephews wedding this summer and I was very concerned about it
