My husband will eat all the bacon and sausage.

A hardship I would gladly help him with.

Per DR Jane's request, here's the bunny cake:

That's pretty cool, Ginny!

Well here at work, I'm on a sub-committee to hire a new business manager.  There are three candidates and the live interviews are today.  The first is in with the official hiring committee now, and the next will come in at 10:30.  While the second candidate is with the main hiring committee, the first candidate will be with the sub-committee, which is what I'm on.  And when the third candidate is with the main hiring committee, the second candidate will be with the sub-committee.  And then the third candidate will end the day.

Anyway, I got to work early because I wasn't sure what time I was supposed to be here, but I got here MUCH too early...and I'm tired already. :P

Thanks for the comments on the bunny cake.  I want to make clear that I did not make it - my sister-in-law bought it at Servatii's in Cincinnati.

Actually, the cake was the only part of our Easter meal that I didn't make.  No wonder I'm so tired today...

DR Elmore,

Regardless of the etymology of the word Holiday, the word Holyday, does not have the same meaning in the Catholic religion and Catholics are Christians.

Yes, we are both entitled to our opinions, so let's respectfully agree to disagree shall we?

I hate it when that happens...getting to work unnecessarily early, that is.

Thanks, Jrand.  There has been someone in the position temporarily since January, and she's one of the candidates.  We'll see how she compares to the other two.

Yes DR CHAS SMITH this is the problem.....musicians are much in demand and certainly entitled to take a paying job over doing something with us.  With rare exceptions, those we ask are not working musicians who do much more than a wedding now and then. A couple of them have regular church gigs each week.  But it is a seller's market.

I'm up, I'm up - rough night.  Despite taking some NyQuil, I didn't really fall asleep until around four - I'm beginning to think Jeanne is right about maybe this being a quick bug of some sort because my tummy was not feeling good - not nausea, though.

Thanks, Jrand.  I haven't really interacted with her much at all, but I think the other people in the business office like her, so they have more of a stake in this than I do.

re: TOD comments regarding "Time After Time," the Nicholas Meyer film about H. G. Wells going to the future to stop Jack the Ripper from escaping justice:

I agree it's a splendid example of a film about time travel.   Do any of you remember, however, a TV movie with the same name (NOT about time travel) starring John Gielgud?  It's about a man who lives with his three sisters -- April, May and Baby June.

IMDB offer the following:

"The aging Swift family of one brother, Jasper, and three sisters, April, May and June, are forced to live together in the run-down family mansion and they all get on each others nerves. One-eyed Jasper is the only one who does the cooking and he has occasional meetings with a monk from the nearby monastery. April was left some money when her husband died and is now practically deaf. May is a spinster who gives talks on flower arranging and also steals ornaments. The youngest, still called Baby June, was an avid horsewoman, but now relies on her farmhand Christy Lucey to train and ride her horse. One day, to their surprise, cousin Leda comes to visit and elicits various embarrassing family secrets. Leda, who is half Jewish and used to live in Vienna, stayed with the family when she was a teenager, but they thought she died in a concentration camp in the war."

I've wanted to see this film for  30 years and have never had the opportunity.  I now find it's uploaded to youtube!

Can anyone here recommend it?

I finally caught up with it last year. I found it charming and well acted, which made up for some clumsy special effects.

My life may soon be in a major upheaval. My parents are not getting any younger, and my sister Annaliese is not sure how long they can stay in their house. None of us kids lives in Louisville anymore, so the question becomes where will they live.

My sister Linda in Virginia has a separate room on the side of her house where her mother-in-law spent her last years, but Linda and Mom are oil and water. I don't think it would be healthy for either.

I don't think they want to move to Germany to live with my sister Brigitte.

Annaliese's house in Lexington, Ky., is about 800 square feet, so there's no room there.

I have volunteered my house. They have some friends here from previous visits. They would live about eight blocks from church, which she would like. There is an excellent public transportation service for the elderly here. And they would be able to give my bird the attention he doesn't get from me since I'm not at home as much as the bird would like.

Question is, will they go for it? Time will tell.

Monday morning greetings!  I've been to our primary care physician for a routine check-up, mostly for prescription refills.  I have gained weight and lost height  >:(

:(

Sometimes the height loss is from how you stood and it returns on the next visit.
