I may see you there.  I'm going with Susanna Moross Tarjan and taking her to the closing party after.

Vixmom!

Did you ever pick up a ticket(s) for 1776?

There are very few available, but on Wednesday evening, when we're going, there are two in Row A, Mezzanine, near center.  Those are excellent seats.  I was going for three together, so had to settle for a couple of rows farther back.  (It's not front row -- Grand Tier's just ahead of it, but that's only five rows.)

There are also 100+ available in both Mezzanine and Balcony for Sunday evening.  Balcony is really "up there", but there are some in the second and third rows, dead center.

Either way, bring opera glasses if you got 'em, for enhanced enjoyment.  I hope you can make it.

Woke up to an e-mail from Grant Geissman with his tune for the LA show - it's pretty great.  He adjusted a couple of lines of my lyric, which is fine and we'll share the lyric credit - and then I had to write the additional lyrics which I was waiting to do until I knew what the tune was - I spent the morning doing that and they came out really well.  Lanny sent me another orchestration, which is beautiful.  And on we go.  The good news about Grant's song is that he sends Lanny complete rhythm charts and all Lanny has to do is write the horns.

I just finished watching THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.  There are just no words to express how I feel.  I had been meaning to watch this for years, I am so glad I finally did.

It is not easy to sit through, but I think that is the point!!!

Have any DR"S watch this epic movie?

Well, I was tempted to watch it just to make my own decision regarding the controversy surrounding the anti-Semitism and could not bring myself to do so.

I'm annoyed I left my fitbit at home before we went on a long walk.  I forgot it because I couldn't get it to sync with my computer app after my morning walk.

I had Keith drop me off in downtown this morning so I could look at glass frames again before walking home.

I am very excited that I finally found a frame I like.  I've brought home about 6 frames and returned them all.  I saw this frame just before we left for Vegas and liked it but didn't have time to give it a test run.  Some of the other frames I was ok with, not great but ok.  Keith hated them all.

When he came home I was wearing the frame over my contacts.  He looked at me and said "nice glasses".  I am very relieved because I too like these.  I thanked him for pushing me to continue searching for something better. :)

You can bring home frames to try?

I just got new frames/glasses in January. I knew right away which pair i liked best. And a few other people agreed. I really like them. Only problem is it took me quite a while to get used to the prescription even though it wasn't that much different from my old glasses.  I don't wear my glasses that often (only to drive, if i'm at the mall, at the movies, if i'm watching my niece swim).

I got glasses with magnetic sunglasses that attach. I love these feature.

Boy, do I need to get my glasses replaced.  I had the doctor email me my prescription so I can just go somewhere and get a pair.  Maybe I can get that done tomorrow.

The latest reminder:  I just read DR Jane's "I'm annoyed I left my fitbit at home" as "I'm annoyed I left my filth at home..."

What a coinkydink!  I got a text from my eye doctor just last week, saying that it's time for my annual eye exam.  This year, I am eligible for new lenses AND frames.  However, I don't really need new frames (I like the ones I have), so I'm hoping that I can actually get these frames with new lenses (which is covered), AND some new lenses for an older set of frames.  Then, I'll have TWO spare pairs of glasses.  Or maybe I could get at least an allowance on a second set of lenses instead of one set of lenses and one set of frames.  We'll see what they say.

You'll remember when we happily trumpeted five or so years ago that Melody Hollis was the youngest performer to ever do a solo cabaret act at thirteen.  And how I said the floodgates would open, which, of course, they did instantly.  And today there's a press release trumpeting the youngest person to ever do a solo cabaret act - at eleven.  Glad we could show the way.

If you ask places will let you take them, at least the eye doctor's smaller practices.  I don't wear my hair the same way so I like to bring them home and try them with my hair various ways.  Some of the glass frames I tried were a bit colorful and I wanted to be sure they went with everything.  Mostly I think I really wasn't crazy about them, and I want Keith to like them to since he looks at me wearing them more than I look at myself ;D

I know what you mean about having to get used to the new prescription and I find it even worse with progressive lenses.  These new one are round which is a very different shape from my current pair.

My sunglasses are just straight distance lenses and have the magnetic clip-on. I love that I can take the sunglasses off when I'm hiking in the woods or out when it gets dark.  I found a really nice new frame I might get later on.  For now I will have a clip-on sun glass made along with the new frame.  I've been wearing my contacts more and might not need separate sun glasses.  While the frames look great with the magnetic clip-on them, they are too large for my face to wear as regular glasses.

I lost about 4.5 miles and 9,000 steps that would have been added to my 7,915 steps and 3.4 miles.

Sun Valley Serenade arrived in my mailbox this morning!  Most entertaining.

I didn't receive that (yet), but today I did receive the 2015 Encores! cast recording to Lady, Be Good, the London cast recording to American Psycho, and a 2012 reissue of a CD that I'm on (when I was in the Western Washington University Concert Choir), Scarlatti: Geistliche Chorwerke.

What's cool about the CD that I'm on is that it was reissued because of the quality.  According to the record company's website:

Quote
On the occasion of its 40th anniversary Carus has initiated a new series Carus Classics, featuring outstanding CD productions* from the past library of recordings. This exclusive collection, designed by Friedrich Forssman and Cornelia Feyll, is presented in high-quality DigiPacs and each CD includes an extensive booklet. "The performances by the 50-voice choir are highly competent." American Record Guide, May 1992*

I found eight copies only of a great Bay Cities CD - Howard Hanson, Nymphs and Satyr Ballet Suite and his brilliant Concerto for Organ, Harp, and Strings, one of the most beautiful pieces of 20th Century American music I know.  Hanson was a brilliant melodist and this CD is stunning.  Get it while the getting's good.  Ten each plus 3.75 shipping.  You know how to direct pay to Paypal and be sure to put the CD title in the invoice.

Well, it's time for me to leave work and go home.  I've been here since 8:00 am, and that's just too darned long for me.

Be back later.
