My brother walked down the street so he could take my Mom to her first radiation treatment.  A few minutes after he got here, he got a call that his mother in law (who lives with them) was not doing well.

He ran back down the street.  I told my Mom that I would take her.  While she went in the call him, he was walking back down the street to tell us that his mother in law had passed away.....I told him I would take Mom and just go on back home.....

So it has been quite a morning already here on FairLane Drive.

Property relief vibes for DR ELMORE.....this has certainly been an ongoing saga.  Did they ever think about selling some OPTIONS on the property?  At least some money would be coming in.

Sadly, no.

TOD

Peppermint spirits.  A home remedy item few people know about today.  Very potent, comes in a tiny bottle.  If a drugstore doesn't carry it, the pharmacist can get it in for you.  Put half a teaspoon into an 8-oz glass of water.  Add an ice cube if you like it cool.  Sip slowly.

The strength is up to you, but don't make it TOO strong because that could probably be weird.  I think I go for a teaspoon these days, but start with a half.

I've never had peppermint spirits but imagine, since peppermint is known to help it should.  My problem with peppermint is that is jiggered my GERD if I have too much.

Elmore, One More Walk Around the Garden from Carmelina may be my all-time favorite Lane song. But they're all joys: Too Late Now, I Left My Hat in Haiti, Hurry It's Lovely Up Here, There's No Melinda, On the SS Bernard Cohn, so many.

Listening now to the Melissa Errico version of Finian's Rainbow. She'll make a great Leona in Do I Hear a Waltz? at Encores.

TOD:

It depends on the type of stomach ache. For most, ginger in any form will do it. But if it's the rare case of acid, a Tums works almost instantly for me.

Ditto on the Ginger Ale.  It's great for what ails me.

I also sometimes drink a cup of peppermint tea.  My favorite brand of Peppermint Tea is Trader Joe's.   It just tastes better than the other two or three brands I tried.

Speaking of declension, did you mean the "grammatical" sense of the word or the "literary" sense of the word?

Tuesday afternoon greetings!

DR JRand, when I think I'm having a bad day (which I'm not today), I'll remember this morning on FairLane Drive.  Condolences to your brother's family.

TOD - Richard is adhering to the BRAT diet right now:  Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast (white bread).  I commented that it sounded like the diet his mother used to follow and he said that had not escaped his notice.

LOL DR GINNY.....those reminders are always better to give than receive.

Thanks to all for the thoughts on my good news and bad.

Since I have had my cough for three weeks, I decided to go to the local WalGreen's clinic.....I signed in and was approved, only to have the doctor rush by and say....I will be  gone until 1:45....but I will take you first when I get back....so I came home for awhile.

Hopefully I can get something for this cough.  I thought the Robitussin was helping, but it seemed to be making it worse.  We shall see......in about 20 minutes.

I detest an annoying cough.  I detest having one.  And I hate being around someone who has one.  I always wonder why they don't do something for the cough, and I never remember that I, too, have coughs that I cannot control.

I guess I'm human.
