Well, I'm off.  I'm heading to the theater for the first of the last two performances of "The Credeaux Canvas."  Hopefully, we'll have a lot of people in the audience!

Be back later!

The Vixter and I saw the original cast in Wicked... All except Joel Grey who left about a week before we got there.   We loved it ..

But is she going to go to school or does she at least have a job down there?

I did, too. They are wonderful. I can't imagine Hadley being low-key as Lucy in the Peanuts movie that Ginny mentioned. Her Fortuosity was lively and full of natural pizazz.

Thank you, all, for the vibes. The story is just shocking. I can hardly understand it. I can't imagine how Felis is handling it.

I'll be on the road tomorrow wending my way to Schenectady (you should see me wend sometime, actually - it's a sight to behold).  I will of course check in, but it may be late in the day or even late at night.

Give my regards to Proctor's. One of these days I'll come across the photo of the time I met Red Skelton there.

I also remember seeing Imogene Coca and Judy Kaye in a production of On the 20th Century.

That's where I met Harold Nicholas of the Nicholas Brothers. He was touring in The Tap Dance Kid.

I even remember seeing a particularly wooden Robert Goulet in South Pacific. The actress playing Nellie Forbush got sick, so she was replaced at intermission. Nobody seems to have taken notice. Neither was particularly good.

I'm watching Carol. I don't particularly like Cate Blanchett in the movie. She overacts to the point of being a caricature. Rooney Mara is magnificent. It's kind of like the difference between Shirley MacLaine and Debra Winger in Terms of Endearment.

I am home from WICKED, which I enjoyed much more than I expected.  there were too many differences from the book, which I think is quite wonderful. Judy Kaye is now playing Madame Morrible ad Peter Scolari is the Wizard.  The Elphaba was truly wonderful, and i would much rather hear her than Ms Menzel's caterwauling.  The Galinda was fine, a very excellent Cheoweth impersonation.

I saw it in Seattle with local girls Shoshana Bean and Megan Hilty.  Both were wonderful.

One of these days I'll have to watch that show. I find the cast album ear-numbing. None of the melodic gifts that Schwartz showed in Pippin or Godspell seems to be in evidence.
