Nice notes.....I don't like the OTHER director, and I don't even know her.  It seems to me that colleges are their own little fiefdoms - they have nothing to do with the real world....and many professors and almost professors can't see anything past their own noses.....

I'm loving the blow-by-blow account of the revue rehearsals.

Yes!  I read them and wish I was there.  No joke.

Page Two!!!!

The dance last night actually went very well.  We finished it.  I had four of the eight girls in attendance.  It's amazing what you can do if your cast is game and you have a patient and creative pianist.....

I posted the PDF of the dance and a video on the Little Women Facebook group for those who were just TOO BUSY to get there last night.

Totally.  And I hadn't even considered the academic fiefdom aspect.  Of course!

You want patient AND creative?  That will cost you extra, sir!

Wonderful book review, DR Elmore.  It made me want to read the book again, and reviews don't get better than that.

Thank you, DR ChasSmith!

Last night I watched Tea With Mussolini, which I really enjoyed. Since it's based on Franco Zeffirelli's autobiography, I dragged the book out of storage to read it again.

Fiesta has started. It's more than two weeks of parties across town that just seem to get bigger and busier each year. And this is the 125th anniversary, so it should be a nightmare.

I'm working the Fiesta Oyster Bake tonight. It's usually a fun event with some live entertainment. Tonight's is a pair of '80s favorites: the lead singer from Styx and Night Ranger. Thankfully, my booth is near the jazz stage.

It's also supposed to start storming tomorrow with thunderstorms in the picture for the following 9 days. That should make for real fun. One private event I'm going to has already moved everything indoors.

Yes, indeedy! But that happens everywhere: the Houston Grand Opera in 1990 was a nest of vipers with each nest hating the other.  One wrong lunch or expression of friendliness to a rival cabal made your life a social disaster.

The biggest problem is that this alternate director sees BK as a threat, needing a chopping down to size.

DR Ginny, I have The Painted Girls checked out from the library?   Should I read or return it?  Has anyone else read it?
