I woke up this morning around 6 took a shower washed and blew dry my hair. Threw on some jeans and sneakers ( and a blouse let I shock the populace) and ran to the supermarket and picked up some flavored creamers and milk and ran them over to the church

So I went to the car wash and then home to dress for the funeral

We got the church about 9:45 and found a full church much your surprise... Since it was a Fidaymorninf we expected a small turnout but so many took time off to be there

It was a lovely service.... Both of our pastors were there and cop resided, much to my surprise as we usually only have one of them there I was very touched that they both were there.

The hymns were O God Our Help inAges Past, Rock of Ages, Cleft For Me, Abide With Me and Amazing Grace. And during communion one of my nieces played piano while the other sang Let It Be

Eulogies were given by myself, one of my brothers and the Vixter

Then we processed to the cemetery As the lead car we actually went ahead of everyone because there was some final paperwork that and to be done. 8 zoomed ahead did the paperwork and the rest of the entourage was still not there

I told Vixter to call the Pastor. It turns out the whole processional was int ehcemetery next door....

So as soon as they caught up to us We headed over to the internment site they had a nice awning set up and some chairs. Two young soldiers were there and one played taps and then they did a little flag ceremony and the one of the soldiers, on blended knee, presented Mom with the flag

The Pastors did a final service and then Mom carried Dad to his final resting place. it is a lovely marble wall and they put a beautiful carved cover over it.

The. We walked over to my grandfathers grave. ( My moms dad). They are only steps apart

We had a long table covered with photos and a coup,e of albums and everyone took turns gathering around. Th pictures sparking stories

Then around 2:30 people started leaving and we cleaned everything up , packed up the extra food and cleared out just as the 3 pm wedding was beginning

Goddamned UPS@ I can come home at 1:00pm to find I've missed a delivery. Today I sat here all day, and they arrived at 4:45 and completely wasted my day. Shit.
