Back from a long but fruitful rehearsal.  I had to go into BK mode due to latenesses, no one being there to let us into the building, etc.  We lost forty minutes and frankly I don't have those forty minutes to lose.

Here it is, one o'clock in the morning, and I am still awake.  I did have a couple of naps this evening, but now, when I need to sleep, I can't.

I should set an alarm, so I can wake up in time to take a morning nap.

I went to the head of the department first - he got the sheriff on campus to let us in and he'll speak to the shop person who was thirty minutes late.  The students who were late were very apologetic and three of them have never had a problem before, so I just said it can't happen again - the shared actors who were late, well, that's inexcusable and two of them were alternates who were going to play the Thursday matinee performance, and we fired both because both have simply not been there enough.  That leaves us with one alternate and she's been at every single rehearsal and can basically step into any of the female roles.  One other gal is very much in danger of going and we'll make that decision on Monday morning - I have someone I can bring in if that happens.  I think this gal would really like to do it, but she's just missed too much and unlike the other shared actors, she hasn't been watching the videos are boning up on her solo.

In from a fun but sort of sad dance. Sort of sad because they played two Prince songs, one Bowie, Merle and some other musical friends we've lost recently.

Watching the DVD of Shrek the Musical. I've owned this for a while but I haven't watched it until now. I think it could have waited longer.

Wondering how it can possibly take two weeks to read my latest book, but what do I know?  Usually folks like Shayne read it the second it arrives.  Those days are gone.  I do understand that dear reader George is the busiest man in show business.

Mark read your latest book in two nights! He enjoyed it.

Volunteering at the WCPA tonight (yesterday, really), all I did was count people with a clicker as they came into the lobby of the theater

There was no performance, just the artwork of an artist.

I saw this in Seattle before it went to Broadway and enjoyed most of it.  The big giant dragon didn't work and from what I'd heard, it got cut...and deservedly so.
