TOD 2:

In college, I remember going to a marathon screening of Bondarchuk's War and Peace, which is about 9 1/2 hours, if I remember correctly.

Watching the unedited Geaven's Gate during a snowstorm felt longer.

TOD3: Peer Gynt with Richard Thomas was about six hours long and staged in two parts. I did not see both on the same day.

One of these days, I'd like to do the Ring Cycle.

TOD:

I really don't know what's the longest play I've ever sat through, but I can say that "Hedda Gabler" certainly FELT like the longest play. I only saw it because it starred Annette Benning and I always really liked her.
The longest movie I ever saw was "Reds". It was so long it had an intermission. Nonetheless, I LOVED that movie and I saw it twice in the theater. It was my all time favorite movie for many years.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Last night's AAUW board meeting got kind of ugly and I'm disgusted with both my predecessor and my successor as president.

Sorry Ginny.  Keith has the knowledge needed to be of value to the landscaping board for our condo complex.  He doesn't want to do it just for this sort of reason.

Keith is smart.

I can't believe one of them actually said, "That's not my job."

I have now taken a tour of Ponta Delgada.  The whole city seems to be preparing for a large Catholic holiday coming up this Sunday.  Our driver, Roy, tried to tell me the name of the holiday, but I couldn't understand him.

We then did some browsing in a mall in town.  The main entertainment in town appears to be riding the elevator up and down.

Rogation Sunday?

I almost bought a sweater at the mall.  It was the most unusual shade of burgundy.  In the end, I decided against it.

That could be it, Ginny.  They were decorating a church and the plaza in front of it with lights.

Remember a while back when we had to skip the dress rehearsal for Dayton Opera's Otello because of my cough?  Well, the same friend just offered her tickets for their Carmina Burana dress rehearsal on May 18 and we said YES!  It'll be fun because they're combining with the Dayton Philharmonic Chorus and I have 2 friends in that, too.
