It was very strange. I tapped away on my tablet but Facebook wouldn't open. Keith kindly deleted it and then downloaded the app again. Then it took forever to give up on remembering the, fairly new, password before resetting another new one

And then we learn they have passed on. They did not ask our permission and did not say goodbye.

How is that fair?

Some folks here may remember that for our 40th reunion, a rather small group pushed through a formal "country club" reunion that turned out to be almost as dreadful as it sounded. So, a month or so before the reunion, I came up with assort of alternate pizza and beer party at the unofficial school tavern on the evening before the formal event.

The pizza party turned out to be most talked about and most enjoyable event of reunion weekend. Their were no cliques or "in group / out group" separations, just a group of old friends sharing a beer and a memory or two.

The formal dinner the next night turned out to be just as dreadful as I had expected. Everyone gathered in their little groups ignoring those who were not their "equals."

There is talk of making the 50th more like my pizza party, and if I was asked, I would help on the committee to plan that event. But, if the same small group decide to plan and host the reunion, I wouldn't be interested, nor would I probably attend.

I think the list of departed classmates is really going to increase from our list we had for the 40th. It seems like every month or so there is another classmate who had passed away.

My sister and I did post a small remembrance in the newspaper yesterday to mark my mom's 100th birthday.
