Thursday afternoon greetings!  I was out of the house before 8:30am to be at the New Lebanon branch of my former employer for the first meeting of a 6-week collage/art journaling class.  My back-roads route was so rural that I crossed Chicken Bristle Road.

I didn't meet him, but I was around when he came to Cleveland to guest conduct.  I remember sitting in on at least one rehearsal at Severance Hall when he took the Cleveland Orchestra through the Prologue to Boito's MEFISTOFELE.  I'd listened to the Toscanini recording featuring - what else? - The Robert Shaw Chorale, over and over and over, and boy, was that a treat.

Haven't listened to many of his Atlanta recordings, but I liked his CARMINA BURANA quite a bit.

No, I sure haven't.  Anyplace in your general area will be fine.  I can come up I-75 just as easily, and head back over to I-71 afterwards, so anything you want to do will be fine for me, too!

Far east, Anderson Township, is where I will have been staying and visiting.  But I'll be in the downtown/mid-city area for a little bit that morning, so I can come up either highway.  Doesn't matter at all to me.
