Sunday afternoon greetings!  Since we did our Sunday thing on Saturday, we're enjoying a leisurely day at home.  Sometime between 1 and 3 we'll walk over to see the house on the southwest corner of the intersection we can see from our living room.  Not interested in moving, just being nosy neighbors...

The realtor, who we know, sent out postcards to the neighborhood and told us that sometimes she has a by-invitation open house for the neighbors.  This wasn't that, but she asked that we talk it up.  It's a nice house that the current owners have updated quite a bit:

I should move to Ohio

Well, Middletown, anyway.  This same house in adjacent communities (with better schools and images) would be a lot more.  We live in a house in Middletown that we couldn't begin to afford in more upscale communities.

I'm enjoying Acorn TV. I read some years ago about a satellite dish that could pick up the Canadian stations from many US locations. Canadians have GREAT TV. A friend in Ottawa can pick up both TVOntario, a PBS-like station, as well as a NY PBS station. So many fine offerings! But as there are only so many hours in the day, I expect to do nicely with Acorn. They don't just have British shows; they also have the New Zealand BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES, which I like to watch for the settings as much as the plots.

Are those available on disc? I'll have to check the library for those.

Jacques Pepin -- or "Jack Peppin," as the announcer called him in his best Texas voice -- was wonderful. He's a charming raconteur with a great approach to cooking. He was with his daughter, Claudine, who was also a delight. During the coarse of their 95-minute talk, they downed a bottle of rose' between the two of them. I wish I had had a glass of that.

Today was the hottest day of the year.

So it was veggie day at my place.

Jeanne, my A/C is a portable unit that I could take from room to room, but I don't do that.  The brand is Shinco, and it comes with a remote control.

My windows are sliders rather than up and down type, so I had to find a model that the venting hose would work, and this one works well.

The only reason I don't move it from room to room is that the living room stays cool enough so the bedroom is the only room I have to worry about.

I believe I bought this unit from Wally World.

Tomorrow I need to get my butt in gear.

It is supposed to be down to 80 degrees tomorrow, so that won't be so bad as today.

I need to meet a dear friend and former co-worker for lunch tomorrow.

We are meeting after her doctor's appointment, so it will be an exciting and glamorous lunch at Shari's.

So, I guess I will have to have a piece of pie.
