Kritzerland show sounds great and I look forward to videos.

Any chance of some Jean Louisa Kelly?

Kerry, do you think that Schopenhauer was right?

TOD:
I had to Google Rodgers and Hart to come up with ideas. The first link that comes up is for a 2-CD set. I don't recognize the titles of most of the songs. But probably if I heard them, I would know a lot of them. The ones I recognize and like are:
The Lady is a Tramp
Where or When
I Wish I Were in Love Again
On Your Toes

Maybe Guy Haines can sing "On Your Toes" at the August show because he's recorded that one and did it splendidly.

TOD:

Too many, as others have said. But a few that come to mind:

Most of "Boys from Syracuse": Falling in Love with Love, Sing for Your Supper, He and She ("She was so kind that she hated vivisection ...")
"Babes in Arms": I Wish I Were in Love Again, title song
"Pal Joey": Our Little Den of Iniquity, Zip
"I Married an Angel": Did You Ever Get Stung, At the Roxy Music Hall, I'll Tell the Man in the Street, Spring Is Here, How to Win Friends and Influence People
"Dearest Enemy" (thanks to Elmore): Where the Hudson River Flows, The Hermits, Here in My Arms, Bye and Bye

Monday morning greetings!  Quiet morning here in SW Ohio, except for the buzz saws in the back yard behind us.  Another tree is being trimmed.

I'm taking today off from work because my dad is visiting, so I can write a bit about the Kritzerland show.
I confess I wasn't really look forward to it because I just wasn't sure these songs would sound very good without a full band. But Grant Geissman's guitar-playing really added the kick that was needed. The only song where I felt the arrangement was missing something was on "My First, My Last, My Everything". Maybe it was the violins I was missing. Anyway, everything was amazing. And true to the Kritzerland format, there were a few songs I'd never heard before, like "If Only For One Night", "The Cat Song" and "Once Before I Go".  Sami's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" was particularly wonderful and I always enjoy Jean Louise Kelly in everything she does. Bruce was also wonderful on all three of his songs. The duet on "Here You Come Again" and the looks they gave each other was very charming. I didn't notice at all that his voice was going - he sounded fine on everything. "Terminal" was always one of our favorites from the Guy Haines CDs, so we were thrilled to hear that live. I do think I noticed the lyric furmer, but he covered so well, I immediately thought it was my imagination. I now look forward to other Kritzerland shows of this type.

TOD - Everything I know about Rodgers and Hart, I learned from DR Elmore when I was his rehearsal assistant for a revue here in Middletown.  My favorite songs are:

I Could Write a Book
Where or When
To Keep My Love Alive
Everyone Loves You (When You're Asleep)
I'll Take Manhattan

I love the second verse!
Once you said in your funny lingo
I'd play at bingo day and night
And never get the number right
It never entered my mind.
Once you told me I'd stay up Sunday
To read the Monday morning dirt
And find you're merging with some skirt.
It never entered my mind.
Life is not complete alone
The man who came to dinner lets me eat alone.
I confess it, I didn't guess it
I'd sit around and mope again
And all the while I'd hope again
To see my darling dope again . .
It never entered my mind.

That's probably the same revue I did in 1980....called Rodgers & Hart: A Celebration.

I first heard this song on a Cybill Shepherd recording.
