Food was as it always is at lunch at Genghis Cohen - okay.  Their good chef doesn't come until five.

I'm not sure whether this video was posted here.  Its theme seems to be "Not everyone wants a baby, but everyone wants HAMILTON tickets."  Quite funny!

I'm listening to "Bright Star" and am enjoying it.  I'm not paying attention to the lyrics too much, but I like the music. :)

It started, I guess, with my picking my friend up at the airport all too late. While waiting, I saw this woman get in the car in front of me, and she looked liked a twin of one woman at the dance studio. Turns out that's exactly who it was.

Anyway, I got Bonnie to her house and then got home by 1 a.m. I was back up at 6:30. I had to get to the office by 8 for a meeting. Thankfully school's out, so the traffic was lighter than usual. I made it with one minute to spare.

A full day of strange work preceded the last dance lesson before the competition on Friday. I hope I remember, or even part, of what they're trying to cram into my head at the last minute.

I'm now trying to watch the rst of Luchino Visconti's Senso, which I started last night.

It's often like an opera, with Valli (from "The Third Man") overacting deliciously and at times just a study in desperation. Farley Granger wears tight pants. He's not required to do much else. He fits the role. (Pun intended.)

Nothing like cutting it close.

Funny about the woman.

Great news, JRand, on the extra performances. I wonder why people would show up for Little Women and not something, well, of quality.

Still, it's good to get those butts in theater seats.

I'm listening to "Bright Star" and am enjoying it.  I'm not paying attention to the lyrics too much, but I like the music. :)

I've really flipped for this score. I find myself singing snippets from various songs through the day.

I finally finished First Daughter Suite. Great music but the story is just too sad too often. The bickering between Nancy Reagan and Patti Davis is particularly ugly, but then again, that's sort of to be expected. Mary Testa offers a more sympathetic Barbara Bush than the woman has come off in interviews or in stories about her and her daughters-in-law.

Speaking of jets, Southwest Airlines is having a super sale through tonight on their website. I got round trip tickets to Tampa in September for less than $100 each way.

I've got that in my "saved for later" list.  I think I may have to get it sooner rather than later.  I love Mary Testa!

And now, I'm off to the theater.

Be back later.

Thank you.  I was ok for most of the day but am dragging now.  I expect it will hit me harder tomorrow.

Just revel in memories of La Sagrada Familia and Gaudi architecture.

Senso's English version has a screenplay by the rather unlikely writing duo of Tennessee Williams and Paul Bowles. I'm going to have to watch it just for the florid dialogue.
