A first not-so-meaty post after TCB.

Looks like a high of 83 today.  But maybe rain tomorrow and back in low 70's.

What's your favorite casserole?

Does Skip's gourmet macaroni and cheese count since it's made in a casserole dish?

Last night's Chautauqua was just what I needed.  Richard and I went early and ate dinner from the food trucks.  We found my friend Becky and sat with her for the pre-show music and then the McNeils joined us in time for the performance.  Theodore Roosevelt was portrayed by a retired history professor from Minneapolis.  He was great, both in character and out.  Tonight=Dian Fossey.

Although my doctor says I will not get the full benefit of the injection for a couple of days, I think I will find it exactly what was needed.  The pains are already much less than they were, and I slept quite well last night.

This morning I'm meeting Rosemary Ashe at 11:00 for a cuppa. Then I head to the Kaufman Music Center to work at the piano for an hour before our Moonshine & Mistletoe music director joins me. I have some things to play with about underscoring.

I am sorry to hear the news about Bright Star.

Wouldn't you know?

Watching the Tony's on Sunday, it was the one number from a show that I really liked.  In fact, I'm planning to pick up the CD this week.

Errol Flynn speaking in my one-person play, FLYNN:

Back around 1948….I was filming DON JUAN….Some
lady I’d “known” began spreading a nasty rumor that
I was physically… “under endowed”.

A story like that could’ve destroyed by public image.
I had to nip it in the bud, so to speak.

One day, I invited Vincent Sherman…. He was
directing DON JUAN….into my dressing room.

All I had on was a towel…my favorite attire.

“Vince,” I said, “I want to go over a point or two
about this next scene….”

While we talked, I “accidentally” let the towel slip to
the floor.

Vince almost died….I was wearing a rubber cock…
two feet long…. Perc Westmore had made it for me
in the make-up department.

Vince says, “We’ve got to pull this on Alan”.

I put the towel back on, and we call in Alan Hale.
“Alan,” I said, “about this scene….” And, I let the
towel drop….

Hale doesn’t bat an eye. He takes one look at the
thing, says: “I’ll take a pound and a half”.

I had a doozy of a dream last night: I was in Oxford, Ohio, and trying to remember the consecutive seasons of Miami University Summer theatre.  it was begun in June 1966, and i worked on every one of the first six seasons.  So, I was trying to remember, was The Firebugs the same season as The King & I?  Sis Marjorie Somethingorother play Mrs. Anna? Friends from the 1960s were in and out of it

Then I was outside on Seventh Avenue and 48th Street in Manhattan, and the person looking at seedlings in this nursery-deli was my late friend Thom Heinrichs, whom I'd dreamed about a couple of weeks ago.
