I didn't know the Joseph Losey M was an L.A. location film!
Too bad about those subtitles.

BK:. I haven't watched it in a while, but does Night Tide (1961) contain any shots that are particularly revealing for you?  I always enjoyed the carousel setting, and there are bits of Venice...  well, I need to get back to it myself.

Night Tide is more Venice than Ocean Park, but there are a few shots that tickle the fancy.  The subtitles on M are a shame but after five minutes I just forget they're there.

Word on the street about the street is that the ROAD to the theatre was opened this morning......no more detour that took an extra ten minutes and an extra gallon of gasoline a week!

If the Golden State Warriors win tonight's basketball game, they will be repeat NBA Champions.

If that happens, there will likely be a parade in Oakland on Monday.

If that happens, I will not be coming to work on Monday, 'cause the parade goes right in front of my building, turns down the street at the intersection and comes to a halt not far enough down the street for the crowds to disperse from around my building.  All the roads around my building will also be blocked off Monday morning meaning that I'd have to "talk my way through police stops and proving I work in the building on the corner which is also where I park."

I have given due notice to my boss.

I'm getting a little impatient in my wait for the annual Barnes & Noble sale.

There are more than a few Criterion Blu ray discs I want.

I am home from my City Center jaunt.  As I got to the bus stop my blood sugasr crashed, and I really was frightened since i had nothing with me, A nice elderly black woman waiting for the same bus gave me a cinnamon candy which was very good and did the trick.  The bus ride home was very strange with one unpleasant pushy woman who made life miserable for several others.

As it turns out, I have one extra signed musical quote from Richard Sherman.  First person to pipe up gets it but act quickly.  Same deal as on Indiegogo - $250.

Whilst I was there I saw SpongeBob. The Musical and i must say that it was 100% fantastic.  I wish it well on it's journey to the Broadway.

I also saw the National Tour of The Sound of Music which was fantastic.  A cousin of mine from Pennsylvania played Friedrich and he was great.  The show show was very well done, directed by Jack O'Brian - and what I loved about it was it didn't try and be the movie at all.  Except for the inclusion of "Something Good" in Act Two - with alternate lyrics.  It was a great show.

My friend Ben Davis is playing Captain von Trapp.  Did you see him or was he on vacation?  He was in Japan.

Thursday morning greetings!  The Mom thing I had to deal with yesterday went much more smoothly than anticipated - thanks for the vibes.  It's not resolved, but I understand the process a lot better now and can proceed with some confidence.

Thank goodness Chautauqua is this week, because it's giving me something to look forward to each evening.  Last night's events were moved into the auditorium at the campus due to severe thunderstorms.  The seats were more comfortable than the ones in the tent, but the atmosphere just isn't the same indoors.  Tonight's weather forecast is much better.  Several members of my book group are going to hear Marie Curie.  We've all read different books about her and will discuss them while we carpool to Hamilton and eat dinner from the food trucks.

I'm glad things went better than expected and you are enjoying your evenings :)

TOD:

I've not seen the James Whale-directed "Show Boat", but I very much love the Keel-Grayson version (which may be considered "Show Boat Lite" by some folks).

"Show Boat Mangled," in my book, missing the point of the novel and the original show completely.

Having heard the music I was surprised when I finally watched the movie.  It didn't care for the changes from the novel.
