I thought that I had a union meeting tonight after work, but I got an e-mail that it was being cancelled...and it was for next Monday, anyway! I only got the e-mail about a half hour before I was going to leave for it.

He was offered a free 7-day cruise in Europe and his wife can't go with him. So he wanted to know if I wanted to go with him.
