TOD - 4 years ago, Richard and I went to Music Hall to Cincinnati Opera's Porgy and Bess.  He said he remembers singing excerpts from it in high school chorus.

There's a hippy-dippy public radio station in Yellow Springs, OH, just east of Dayton.  Several years they were promoting a local production and, on a Monday, I heard the announcer say "PorJy and Bess."  He repeated it on Tuesday the same way, so I purposely listened on Wednesday, thinking surely someone would have corrected him by then.  When he mispronounced it again, I called the station.  The announcer himself answered and I told him I couldn't stand it any more.  He seemed to appreciate my concern.

Well, it's time for me to leave work.  I'm cat- and fish-feeding for my friend Margo, so I need to do that before I go home.  It won't take too long, but she lives on the west side of Olympia, about six miles away.  I have a coupon for Wendy's.  It's just a few blocks from where she lives, so I'll go there for dinner. :) That's the closest Wendy's to where I live and work.

Be back later.

John G, I'm happy to have introduced you to Bill Cunningham. What a character he was, one who saw beauty and wonder all around.

It's mahhhvelous!

I hope you're not feeding the fish to the cats.   ;)

Glad to hear that Vixmom is safely back home. And pleased that there was some playtime in the midst of all the toil.

Just had a really good ham and swiss on a burger bun right here made by my very own self - that item has brought my calorie intake up to app. 800, so I have some melon balls, and later I might just have another piece of ham and swiss (no bread) just to make sure I get up to 1000.

I ran into Joan Ryan at Gelson's - she said my three favorite words the minute she saw me: You've lost weight.  So, slowly but surely I must be.

The lost Outside the Box episode.  The Outside the Box musical theater group does the color blind version of Porgy and Bess with an all-white cast, save for a few Asians and Hispanics in ensemble roles.  We'd see them doing the great number Bess, You Are My Woman Now.  It was seriously going to be the second episode until I realized they could come after us for the music rights.
