I received an email from Barnes and Noble that I have a $14.13 credit due to the settlement on the ebook lawsuit.

I have never cared for the kindness of croissants.  Just don't "get" them.

Is that because I bought all my e-books from Amazon?

Yesterday's barbecue was really good, except there was no potato salad.

Since we don't have a real deli around these parts, and most supermarket delis make crappy potato salad; I am on the hunt.

I may have to bribe my sister into making some of her great potato salad.

There is one restaurant that makes good potato salad, when it is fresh, but it isn't always fresh.

What is on a Woody Allen?

Half is corned beef, half pastrami.

Since there is no old actors lunch tomorrow, maybe I will go to that other restaurant.

I forgot how expensive those sandwiches are.

I'm shocked, shocked, to see how much that one is now.  In my earlier years of eating a pastrami sandwich there, it probably went from around $12 to $15.  Now it's $20.  But that big one?  That's pretty mindboggling.

I've started watching Fellini's City of Women, which I haven't seen in more than 20 years. I didn't like it before. I like it even less now, if possible. It gets loud about 10 minutes into the movie and stays on really loud. Shrill, ugly, and, yes, fascinating. But after an hour, I can't believe there's still 80 minutes left to go.

If you don't like it, why keep watching it?

Today was the first day of my summer shows.  Working on Footloose during the day and Xanadu at night.  Both are some of my favorite "newer" shows.  We even had an original Footloose cast member on hand to help us out.

On the DD front -- we are hanging in there.  The little one is a darling and the big one is still being a stinker.

It's fascinating, even in its ugliness.
