It's Thursday.  I slept badly, so I'm not quite with it yet but, I'd better hurry since I have to get going soon.

I had some pie.  I really didn't want any, but I had to even up the row.

Thursday morning greetings!  After 2 "up and outta here" mornings in a row, I'm enjoying a slow start to today.  I've had breakfast and 2 full cups of coffee, read the paper, and completed the crossword puzzle.  Maybe I'll be dressed by lunchtime...

Traffic in midtown is ungodly today.  Everything is blocked at 42nd Street and traffic seems to b e a bottleneck at every intersection.  It took me forever to get back.

Sorry to hear about John McMartin. I got to interview him when he was playing Frederick in a production of Night Music with Barbara Barrie and Barbara Baxley. He was charming, though I think he was taken a little aback when I told him I had a cat named Benjamin Stone.

I also saw him in Grey Gardens.

He did a lot of great guest appearances on TV. One of my favorites was on Coach in which Shelley Fabares has to stalk him for some reason and begins babbling about the airport in Atlanta. He thinks she's demented and his reactions are priceless.

So, my first project in the Music Room this morning was listening to L.A. Now and Then straight through on the Big Speakers.  And did it disappoint?  Oh yeah, baby.  And I have shared that disappointment with my millions of loyal followers on Amazon.

BTW, for me the CD was a little hard to find there because of the number of "now and then" type of titles that came up, even when searching the precise title within CDs and Vinyl.  But if you search on "Bruce Kimmel" in that department, it at least turns up on the first page of results, the third or fourth item down.

Fantastic album and show, BK.

Part of me remains abed today.  Not sure why.   I can think of nothing more comfy than lying on my bed for a nap.

Of course, I'm a work, so that's impossible.

Grrrrr.

I don't think so.  There is a Tumwater Falls Park, which has three waterfalls along the Deschutes River within the park.

TOD:

I have enjoyed the cast recording of "Follies" with his Benjamin Stone.

I have enjoyed him in various episodes of "Murder, She Wrote".

I enjoyed him as Father Frank Leahy in an episode of "The Golden Girls"

And I very much enjoyed him in "Further Tales of the City" and "Sweet Charity".

The Falls sound nice.  But a "Tumwater Springs" would just seal the deal!!!

I have eaten too much and walked too little, and too slowly.  I gained 3 pounds while we had company.  We took them to the airport and made a trip to Costco on the was home.  We go to the Costco in Portland.

George, I just got my Broadway Center guide for next season.  I see that Take 6 and Manhattan Transfer are appearing together in concert at the Pantages Theater in March.  Does that mean they are coming to the Washington Center as well?

Thanks for the info!!  The Washington Center has announced their season and TMT aren't part of it.  However, TMT is performing at the end of this month at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley in Seattle! :D I'm definitely going to see them there!

DR JohnG, I have no idea why "Bushel and A Peck" was replaced by the second-rate "Pet Me, Poppa."  I had to transcribe that song from the film soundtrack for John Yap's complete recording of Guys & Dolls, and I never liked it or "Adelaide" very much. They also dropped one of the ballads for the new "A Woman In Love," which isn't too bad.

Maybe it was a case of wanting a new song for an best song Oscar consideration?

I mostly remember John McMartin from Sweet Charity....and of course from the FOLLIES recording....

Those are mostly where I knew him from, too.  Those and HIGH SOCIETY and GREY GARDENS, also.
