Interesting DR GINNY.....Ben Davis - home of the Giants!

They had a great rivalry with Shortridge - home of the Blue Devils.

I forgot blackberry preserves, actually marionberry.

I don't have any marionberry right now, just the apricot I enjoy.  I like the apricot because it doesn't stain if it drips, not that I put enough on for it to drip.

Honey roasted cashews sound really good.

I like the honey roasted cashews, but I really prefer just regular salted cashews...they're my favorite.

Mine too, lightly salted if I can find them.  I am very fussy, of course, and had a long search here before finding some I really like.

We have been to see Richard's chiropractor, who helped him significantly with a case of Bell's palsy, which is a problem of the 6th cranial nerve, about 20 years ago.  Richard's theory is, since his current problem is with the 4th, it was worth a try.  Time will tell...

I am home from a visit with Ben and a trip to market.  The laundry is in the washers, and I shall finish up "Adelaide's Lament."  When the clothes go into the dryers, I'll walk over to the bank

TOD:

My favorite diet was the raw diet. I was on it for 21 days and lost 21 pounds. I felt better, slept better and felt more positive. It's just almost impossible to follow, especially back then when I wrote about food.

DRs, do any of you have a copy of the musical version of Spitfire Grill that you could send me as mp3 files?

I cannot believe the CD is out of print!

But I just had a great little session in the Music Room, listening to the LP of Ned Rorem songs I'd picked up at a record sale some time ago and which I'd pulled out when BK was posting about him.  It's this one, but mine is the original Columbia LP and in beautiful condition:  https://goo.gl/02KqUm

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL.  I have a new piece of Found Treasure.  I had just transferred the LP to its new sleeve, and since the original paper sleeve was torn, I was about to toss it when my hand felt something small that was still inside -- which was weird since I'd already handled it twice without detecting it.  It was a postcard from Bologna, Italy.  The signature, Jane Angelovich, meant nothing to me until I looked back at the record jacket, and there was Gianna D'Angelo, soprano.  Bingo!  She'd mailed it to friends in Hartford and the note included "Am glad you enjoyed hearing my records.  I hope to make more soon."

No date on the card because the postmark was more off it than on it.

I never heard her in person but I think I have her on a couple of opera recordings.  I see she taught at Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.

I have a vague memory that d'Angelo recorded a Rigoletto or Traviata.

I have long wanted the recording of that show. It's out of print, as you said, and copies are outrageously priced.
