It is a nice quiet Sunday for me.....NICE....I am enjoying not having to go to the theatre tonight and do my director/curtain speech/stage crew thing.

Another police shooting in Baton Rouge.

When will all this stop?

 :( >:(

Please don't do this without providing the necessary detail because it causes everyone to jump immediately to the wrong conclusion.  Yes there was a police shooting in that three policemen were shot dead and three others injured by multiple gunmen, one of whom is dead and two of whom are still at large.

Sorry.

The story is blanketing the news today.  Anybody who has turned on their TV, radio or gets news alerts on the Internet should know about it.

Went to Gelson's - came home and made two hamburgers on low-cal buns - very tasty and under 800 calories.  I'll jog at around five o'clock.

Thanks for the sleep vibes. I really needed them and they worked! I slept well. I need to continue to do so.

Thanks for the FB cartoon yesterday, Larry. My sentiments exactly. (I need to be well-informed but need to also remain sane.)

I've seen spell check do that very thing:  I'll type a couple of letters which somehow triggers the iPad into creating two words, putting them on the screen as though I'd  selected them from the suggested words.  Which I most certainly had not.

IT MUST BE STOPPED.

I had to turn off the spell check on my tablet and my phone.  It was just too annoying.  :P

I agree. I didn't know it could be turned off. I may have to do so. There are a number of changes on the new Macbook which, to me, were just not improvements. Fortunately, I was able to adjust most of them in System Preferences.

Talking about going to the movies with my niece yesterday, Jane asked, "George can your niece wear hearing aids with her condition.  I seem to recall that she can't."  No, they don't help.  She has some noise reducing ear muffs that help in general, but she can't watch a movie with them on. :-\

One of the first symptoms of my hearing loss was sensitivity to loud noises.

Yesterday we took our friends for a drive along Columbia Gorge Scenic Area and came across an INCREDIBLE Kiteboard 4 Cancer race!

I took this photo off of the internet.

My nephew (and DR Kate's son) Matt and his wife Sarah arrived yesterday afternoon. They're on they're way to Charleston, SC.  We went for dinner in Old Town Alexandria and walked around.

Today was a full day.  We started early and went directly to Arlington Cemetery. Then took the on-and-off bus to the Lincoln Memorial and various sights.
