Thursday morning greetings!  Continuing with Project Mom until mid-afternoon when Richard and I will go out for errands.  Tonight my book group discusses Kristin Kimball's The Dirty Life: On Farming, Food, and Love.  Sorta like Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, but not as preachy.  Also reminded me of Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, but not as "cute."

DR Elmore, I truly hope the strange phone call portends better developments in the future than in the past.

Thank you, but the Macbeths are neither good folk nor ones to turn your back to.

Never trust them again but some kind of peace/truce can make family gatherings easier.

LOL, DR Jane!  I liked the book more than I expected.  It was recommended to us by one of our original members who has since moved to Cincinnati and become active in the urban agriculture movement.  I hope she joins us tonight at Katie's!

This is very valuable, Jane.  It can apply to many situations, I think.

It sounds like the former member could add a lot to the discussion. Have a good one, with or without her.

Congratulations!  May your refrigerator give you many good years without any problems!

We expect a new door on our shitty "new" refrigeration on Monday and home it fixes the problem.

Chatting here now I have calmed down a bit as we received some terrible news this morning.

While with our friends to visit their niece we also spent time getting to know her three sons, all of whom we liked very much.  We were especially moved by how close they were to each other, and how atentive the two older boys were with their much younger brother.  We sat across the dinner table from the 20 year old middle son the first night and truly liked him, a nice good looking young man.

Yesterday he died in a bicycle accident.  Now I'm crying again.

Elmo:  I understand your feelings about never planning to see them again, but....did the issue about the disposal of your father's house ever get settled?
