Today was a soup kitchen day

Last month we ran out f good today we had food left over

Then we discovered that the library across the street was having a celebration complete with barbecue , bouncy house , face painting and music

I'm having fun on this very fast computer.  Did my five updates that were waiting to be done and that was very speedy, too.  The ONLY tiny problem I've had is with dragging stuff with the trackpad.  My old trackpad did that effortlessly - this one takes a couple of times before it will actually drag.  I'm sure I'll get used to it and it does ultimately drag so that's good.

Re: non-Apple stores:
There are some good ones around. The Apple stores get sooo crowded and sometimes service isn't the best. Apple set the gold standard in this field, but a little mom-and-pop where they really know Macs can be very helpful, especially once your machine is out of warranty.

The weather today was brutal (extremely hot). And I had to be outside for 6 hours. When I came home I was extremely overheated.

Guess what completed?  Guess where I'm writing this here post from?  Yes, the restore completed and I'm up and running.  Trackpad and keyboard are wirelessly working, I activated Word easily.  It seems to have brought over everything, including passwords and stuff, so that's great.  All Word docs look perfect.  Hallelujah!

And speaking of computers, I ordered a whole new computer from Costco and it's finally going to be delivered on Monday!  I'm pretty excited, except that my computer desk is a freakin' mess and I need to clean it off before I can set up the new computer.  That'll take some time.  Today, I'm going to my parents' house to celebrate my dad's 78th birthday, which is today!  After that, I have to go to the the theater for tonight's final performance of WORDS, WORDS, WORDS.  Tomorrow, I'm ushering at a matinee of a local production of THE LAST FIVE YEARS.  Maybe I'll get my butt in gear and clean up after I get home from that.  I have to do it, so I'm sure that I eventually will.

Our weather has cooled down to the low 70s and the dew points are back in the 50s, so we have lovely--and typical-- LA weather.

I have had to deal with AT&T this morning. Not a happy camper. I hate that company. I really just hate that company.

I don't like AT&T, either. But I loathe Verizon. When AT&T screwed up my billing, I had to call them EVERY month until it was finally resolved. But their reps did try, which was more than the Verizon reps did.
