Another nice day.  Precious is at the Doggie Spa, and she will probably come home shaved.....the groomer doesn't know any other settings, no matter what I ask.

Tuesday morning greetings!  It's another beautiful day, so I think I'll get out and about later.  Need a few things to finish up a birthday surprise that has to be mailed to Michigan by the end of the week.

Today is the 43rd anniversary of my move to Middletown, Ohio, for my first professional library job.  Here's the library and my first car, the tan AMC Hornet:

BK, the early start to the school year is due, in large part, to standardized testing.  Since the tests are administered in the early spring and districts want to get as much prep in as possible, they need to get those "butts in seats" earlier than we used to start.  We saw this developing as our son was finishing elementary school.  We also saw that after testing week, nothng significant happened for the rest of the school year.

School started here on August 10  :P

However, in Michigan - where summer tourism is HUGE - there's a state law that school cannot begin until after Labor Day.

Well, that's interesting.  But just Michigan?  Have any other tourism states done likewise?

My niece posted that her children are already in school in Middletown.  Ridiculous.

It is crazy to me that a lot of kids go back to school in the summer. Here it is next Wednesday, August 31st.

This hotel is very nice, however, the bed and sheets are not much of an improvement.   I guess this is typical,
