This is why the idea of a kindle or nook is attractive. I just don't like reading on them.

I love my Kindle.  I read every time I eat (when I eat by myself) and don't have to try to hold the book open if it has a tight binding.  I can just lay my Kindle on the table and press the page-turn button when I need to. :)

I have both on my phone and a few books on each. Maybe I'll try them again.

I don't like reading on my phone or my tablet because they have shiny screens, whereas my Kindle has the e-ink that is non-reflective.  It's so nice reading on it.  I just have to have an external light source, so I can't read in bed with the lights out...which I really wouldn't want to do anyway, but if I did, I couldn't.

My visit with Mom yesterday was pretty depressing.  She'd like to go to Michigan to visit her friends the Stewarts and the Moores - they're all dead.  And she can hardly walk from her bed to her sofa, but the flowers she planted right outside her window are doing real well.

I'm sure that there are songs from Dessa Rose and Loving Repeating that I like, but I don't know them well enough to remember. :-\

Today, I made photocopies of the eight plays that are going to be in Theater Artists Olympia's "An Improbable Peck of Plays #5" (an evening of one-acts) so that the auditioners will have something to read at the auditions tomorrow and Monday nights.

Then, I visited with my friend David.  He and his wife just got back last week from visiting her family and their friends on the east coast.  They drove all the way back in a car that her grandmother gave them.  It's a tiny sports car.  I never found out what kind, but it's a very small two-seater.  I can't imagine driving across the country (let alone, fitting) in something that small.

I'm listening to a downloaded radio broadcast from 1984 of a Dutch radio cast recording (performance?) of The Baker's Wife by Stephen Schwartz that I was able to come by. ;) There are only three performers, so the three of them sang "Chanson," and the one woman sang a verse of  "Proud Lady."  I have no idea what she sang about, but sang it, she did.

Back from a two-and-a-half mile jog and shall now go to Gelson's and see if there's anything that tickles my fancy for an evening snack.

I finished Season 2 of Grantchester and it turned out fairly well.  They must have been unsure of a Season 3, since everything seemed to wrap up  for the closing.

I have an external light source too. But I could probably read with no lights on. But i usually keep them on and use my ottlite that shines on my kindle screen.

I have a couple of clip-on lights, but they're kind of awkward, so I don't use them.  I don't like reading in my bed anyway, so it's not a problem...well, it hasn't been, so far.

TOD:  I'd echo so many on the lists so far, and I'd add the thrilling "Streets of Dublin" - and I wish there would be a cast album of their show "Little Dancer"  that I thought was so promising at the Kennedy Center

I begged off the pool. I am ok in my own personal back yard pool  but these days I am not interested in parading my fat self and my various surgery scars in a public bathing area

It worked out really well for me, I sorted out the coffee hour supplies, made sure the altar was set properly for communion tomorrow and notice we were down to our last 3 liter bottle of wine
