Follow-up from Yesterday re: My Mac

It's a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch). System El Capitan 10.11.6.

Word version: 15.25

The problem is that despite the settings, the program is not auto-correcting my misspellings.

Misspelled words are not highlighted in red, as they are with MS Word on my old machine....even when I deliberately misspell something and select "Check Spelling".

I took a document from the new machine, e-mailed it to the old machine, then pasted the text into a document created by the old MS Word, and everything was okay.

So, there has to me an issue with the new program.

Any ideas?

I'm also having an issue with the new iMovie, but that's a bit more complicated.

I also need to get a new personal accounting program (something VERY EASY to set up).

I have been using Quicken for years, but the updated Quicken won't read my old Quicken files, so I might as well consider other programs.

Any suggestions?

After I finished the G&D work yesterday, I watched all of GRANTCHESTER Season 1. I should have watched it again before Season 2.

Today I will work my way into "The Crapshooters Ballet." It's long, mostly based on "Luck, Be A Lady." This show needed Trude Rittman to compose the dance music, she would have made more interesting material out of Loesser's melody and chords than whoever worked with Michael Kidd, OI'm hoping I will find the orchestration as imaginative as it is in the Havana sequence.

DR John G, yep! PBS fund drives happen far too often and I find them painful. I also find much of PBS insulting these days: Manhattan's Channel 13 seems to be a lot of infomercials these days, and I have no idea who thought Lawrence Welk's mix of corn, kitsch. and awful musical arrangements deserved a life there.

PBS also has a knack of finding the whiniest, most irritating announcers to bore you to death with their begging, pleading, cajoling, and nagging the viewer into handing over money for bogus gift items.

I've only played this show once, several years ago. My memories are kind of vague but it seemed like it took a while to thoroughly decipher the handwritten MTI score to my satisfaction. And since it was my first time to really learn the dance music, I was kind of surprised that the aforementioned seemed to be little more than that song. (That's probably a bit simplistic and I should go back to it.)

TOD - Many of our favorites have already been mentioned, but I want to add I, Claudius. In our serious dating phase, Richard and I had standing plans to watch this together on Sunday evenings. We even used the Theme from Masterpiece Theatre (Mouret's "Rondeau") as our wedding processional.
