Gene Wilder played the part of Mr. Stein on "Will and Grace":

Mr. Stein: I thank you from the heart of my bottom. No. Wait a minute. Strike that, reverse it.

 ***

Will: "I am Mr Stein." Say it.

Mr. Stein: It.

***

Mr. Stein: I like you, Will. You remind me of a young me.
[pauses]
Mr. Stein: Do you know where my red wagon is?
Will: Uhh... no. I'll have to ask mom.

Was just listening to the rather horrifying duet of Streisand and Melissa McCarthy singing Anything You Can Do - a terrible arrangement and if what I heard on You Tube is actually the mix, the worst I've ever heard - I hope that's just a problem with the upload because all you hear is the band.  What was amusing to me was that we're doing the song with Jenna and Sami in the Kritzerland show, and I adjusted some of the lyrics for them.  And guess what - one of the lyrics I came up with is almost to the word in the Streisand version.  I guess great minds think alike although mine is truer to Berlin's scan and intention.

The Melissa McCarthy duet sounds fine to me.   The only cut I don't like is the one with Chris Pine. I wonder if that's his real voice or if he's trying to imitate someone.  I take that back.  I like Barbra's vocals - I wish she would have sung "I'll Be Seeing You" by herself.

For comedy shows:

(In no particular order)

Yes, Minster
Yes, Prime Minster
To The Manor Born
Good Neighbors (aka The Good Life)
One Foot In The Grave
Butterflies
Keeping Up Appearances
Rising Damp
Dad's Army
The Vicar of Dibley
Absolutely Fabulous

How could I forget "The Vicar of Dibley"?  And "Murder Most Horrid"?  I LOVE "Murder Most Horrid"!  Dawn French stars in both of those. :D

And now, I must be off.  Tonight is the second night (of two nights) of auditions, and I must be there.

But, I'll be back (here) later.

I also recently enjoyed Home Fires a lot. And from the classic days of Masterpiece, Cousin Bette, the Barchester Chronicles, the Pallisers, and the Jewel in the Crown.

Then there was Prime Suspect.

Back from a two-and-a-half mile jog.  Prior to that it was one hour of completely unnecessary and over the top drama, which was actually mind-boggling.  I'm supposed to have a conversation at seven-thirty with the person who caused it - we'll see if that actually happens.  If not, an e-mail will be sent - I should think a conversation would be much more pleasant.

Started watching an Italian flick called Bitter Rice with Vittorio Gassman and someone named Doris Dowling. She's said to be a Hollywood star, but I don't know her.

I'm liking the movie though. Neo-realism with a touch of pulp. Russ Meyer could have filmed the scenes of the scantily clad women working the rice fields, especially the big cat fight in the mud.
