I have just been informed that there's a bacon, eggs, and potato breakfast in my near future.  This is welcome news.

VERY happy to hear of plans for the Sherman recording.

A question for BK:

You mentioned Doug Haverty's USB turntable.  When you've transferred LPs into the digital realm before, is it this same equipment that's been used, or has it been on various setups?  How about acetates?  Do they require something different?

These transfers have always sounded remarkable.

TOD:

I'm currently having issues with my new Mac.  It's working okay, but some of the programs I use from my old Mac won't work on the new one, and some versions of programs on the new Mac have changed so much that I have to re-learn them.

Not fun.

On a positive note, yesterday the people at Intuit talked me through the process of converting my Quicken accounting program so that it would work with the new Mac.  No charge, either.

I'm up, I'm up - about six hours of sleep.  I'm going to try and jog before Time Warner gets here, so it will be the shorter version probably.  Or not - we'll see.

Vinyl transfers have been done by a variety of people, including myself, but my turntable has bit the dust.

Most acetates can be played on a regular turntable.

Here's a question - when did America's Got Talent (or even American Idol) begin using young kids?  The earliest example I can find on Google is 2013.

I am home from a loverly breakfast with Susanna and Peter Tarjan.  As I got off the bus at 55th and Seventh Avenue I found myself in the midst of a long, long parade of young half-naked men heading downtown and carrying banners as they took over the sidewalk. One gave me a card, informing me that they are Irreverent Warriors:

Thanks DR FJL.....we are moving right along.

I cannot answer any AGT or AI because I avoid both programs....and The Voice and any other such show.....like the plague.

Or, if none of those work, at the end of the day take all your change and put it in a piggy bank.  You would be surprised how fast that change will add up.

Actually, I did that for a couple of years.  I put all my change in a 1-gallon glass bottle and when it was filled, I had over $450.00!

I began doing that in elementary school.  For awhile I had the great idea to label the jars with the name of each family member while I saved up for their birthday presents.  I had no idea how clever I was because they would drop extra money into their own jars :)

At 18 when I moved out of my parent's home I basically survived on my penny collection.  You would not be able to do that today.

Survival after Keith and I pooled our money to pay the rent.  I could also eat at his house.

As most of you heard the great Edward Albee passed away yesterday.

One of the highlights of my educational experience was studying with him for one week. I learned a lot about theater and writing. An unique individual and very different when away form the cameras.

Nice memory!

RIP Edward Albee.  I remember Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy in A DELICATE BALANCE at Detroit's Fisher Theatre back in the '60s.

I would like to have seem them on stage together.

Time Warner arrived and we're back online.  Router just went green, modem is working properly.  Let's hope that lasts and that I never have to see an AT&T workman outside my house again.

I think they had allowed kids to audition from the beginning, but they've never put a kid through to the end because, well, they're kids!  I missed watching this season when it was broadcast, so I'm ketchuping through OnDemand.  I've now seen the first four episodes.
