This is what I have.....as a turntable, it is NOT great shakes, but you can record an MP3 directly to a flash drive from the turntable - you don't need a lot of cables.

Then you transfer the MP3 to your computer.  I use a free program called AUDACITY to clean up the files and edit them, etc.

The instructions are NOT very clear - so it's hit and miss until you figure it out.  But if you want a turntable that can also be used to regularly play vinyl - it's not for you.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TechPlay-TCP5-Turntable-with-pitch-control-AM-FM-Radio-SD-USB-ports-RCA-Out/371730060412?_trksid=p2045573.c100508.m3226&_trkparms=aid%3D555014%26algo%3DPL.DEFAULT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150817211856%26meid%3D241ffb7e8684467089a462805749963d%26pid%3D100508%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26

The nice thing about my setup is that my turntable is of good quality, so I'm directly recording ITS performance, AND into a high-res file.  I can compress that into MP3 if I want, and I use Audacity to tweak things, too - which has got to be one of the most useful free programs ever.

I'm beginning to wonder if others are having trouble getting on.  I've only seen DR Jrand66 since I've been on, and the last post before that was two and a half hours ago.

DR Elmore reports that Applecare cannot get HHW to load either.

It included judging the margarita pour-off for the first time in a couple of years. Always fun, even if some of the entries are dreadful.

Yesterday's weirdest had, as a garnish, a big ol' lump of guava paste on a toothpick. Another judge and I thought it was a slice of sashimi tuna.

The most clever, and also the favorite, had a hollowed-out strawberry on the side with a hole in the bottom. It was filled with tequila and when you when to pick up the strawberry, the tequila drained into the drink.

I know a few of you have seen "Florence Foster Jenkins," which is on my list, but have any of you seen "Marguerite"? It's a French film about a fictional version of her. I've started watching it. It's very well acted, but I don't know how much of it I can watch. She knows she's a terrible singer, which makes her neediness pathetic. And she's being taken advantage of by the people who are laughing at her behind her back. Maybe that's the premise of "Florence," too, but this film in the first 40 minutes or so is cruel. Of course, it's French, so that can be easy to assume.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  Had trouble logging in all morning.  I'm just here to say HI and BYE before my friend Sharon picks me up for our 2pm entry to the "Dressing Downton" exhibit at the Taft Museum in Cincinnati.

Good afternoon, all!  It only took me four and a half hours to get onto this site today.  At 8:00am, the page would only download about half a page and go no further.

I spent about an hour with Applecare, who could not access the site, and my Macbook would not download either.  Yesterday night, I accidentally downloaded some malware and I thought that might be the problem.

A nice young lady named Amber cleaned out my computer and stil I could not log onto HHW.  But suddenly - mirabile dictu! - I'm back.  I of course blame Donald Tramp and his ilk.

So, the explosion last night was the "successful" one of two,  the other explosive was discovered and did not go off.  I don't know if this was perpetrated by the same people as the one in Central Park this summer, but I doubt it's terrorism and simply a lunatic who's discovered how to make a bomb on the internet.

Selfishly speaking, since 23rd Street is closed off, I wonder how this will affect my trip tomorrow morning to my podiatrist.

I had no trouble, either.  But it's been quite a while, so hopefully all the problems have been resolved.

I've seen FFJ, but it's not a pathetic situation.  She doesn't realize that she's bad, and her husband tries to make sure that she doesn't find out.

Well, I need to get ready to go see The Story of My Life that TCB saw yesterday.  I'd heard that it's good, but that they haven't had the huge crowds that were expected, so hopefully it's not sold out on their last performance.

Be back later.
