Among other things, I received a check for $ .05. That's right: 5 cents. It was my share of some massive AT&T overcharge.

Possible responses:
"Oh, I'm so glad! Now I can pay my bills!"
"Why bother?"
"A great big THANK YOU to class action suits!"
"AT&T should be fined for overcharging their customers."

Your choice.

But don't get me started on the Wells Fargo mess. THAT is an entirely different matter.

DR Jeanne, did you see my response to your question on page 3?

Here is a video on how to make it.  Maybe you can understand what she is saying better than I can ;D

I suppose strange isn't always bad. Minor annoyances rather than major, at least.

;D  We too have received ridiculous checks like that.  Worse is when they expect you to pay a ridiculous amount.

Years ago we had an annoying stupid experience with Wells Fargo and have avoided them ever since.

I'd missed your comment on the previous page. I had to turn the volume up to hear her, then turn it WAAAYYYY down when the music came on.

I do like using coconut milk and have been thinking about experimenting with it a bit, maybe for an ice cream-like dessert. (Trader Joe's sells a great coconut milk non-dairy "ice cream".)  There was a great little seafood restaurant near my office in San Diego that made a dessert using some sort of berries in a creamy base. I loved it. Something like that, only using coconut milk. I should probably play the video again for more ideas.

And here's the photo evidence!

Great picture!  Thanks for sharing!

That is indeed a nice photo. The food items in the background look quite tempting, too.

An excellent photo.
And Artie's is always tempting, DR Jeanne!   :)

I had an account with BofA while moving across country. Much as I HATE BofA it worked well during the move. As soon as I arrived in California their idiocy resumed. I closed my account and went to Wells Fargo. Big mistake. Every time I went into the bank they'd high-pressure me to open another account. I hate that! After two months I closed that account and went to US Bank, where I still reside. They're not perfect, but they're hugely better than the other two.

I was not at all surprised that WF has been opening unauthorized accounts. It's consistent with the behavior I experienced from them. I don't know for certain that they didn't open an extra one for me.

Jane, I don't expect it to be cleared up anytime soon. The State of California has been using WF to underwrite the state's municipal bonds. They've now curtailed that, which will cost WF millions of dollars a year in lost fees.  I suspect more will come out over the coming months.

Quite lovely little thing:

Looks like that cucumber monster in the 50s horror film with Beverly Garland.

Didn't one of our former DRs write the screenplay for that?   ;)

I was familiar with Tim Kaine from Virginia politics. Good choice, IMO. I know nothing about Pence.

Never buy "light" coconut milk. All they do is mix half water and half coconut milk, but charge you the same price. If you want light coconut milk, make your own.

I don't think he will.  He may be as far to the right (if not more) as Trump, but he doesn't seem as off-balance as Trump. :-\

I set my DVR to record the debate.  I have a TAO board meeting to go to tonight.  Fortunately, we don't have rehearsal in addition to the board meeting.

Had to stop reading the book "Geniuses of the American Musical Theatre." There were far too many errors, and I'm at an age where I'd forget the truth and remember the errors that he was spouting. One of the weirder ones was that Yip Harburg worked on an unproduced film musical of Huck Finn with Burton Lane. That was Alan Jay Lerner. After Finian's Rainbow, Lane swore he'd never work with Harburg again, and he didn't. That much I know.
