Listening to the Walton second symphony, which is, I have to say, one of my favorite symphonies ever.  Wags consider it the weak sister of the first symphony - I like it better than the first.  Oops.  I love the first, too, but there's something about the second that just gets inside me.  Fantastic music - many recordings - I uploaded two - the American premiere of the piece by George Szell and the Cleveland Symphony, and the much later done for CD on Chandos.  I played the first minute of the Szell and then the same on the Chandos just to see which I wanted to hear - night and day - the Szell is superb sound, maybe one of the best sounding classical recordings I've ever heard.  The Chandos tempos seem off to me, but it's the damn sound - the orchestra is about three blocks down the road and you get know detail at all and believe me you want the detail in Walton.  This is amazing music I could listen to over and over again.

My favorite would have to be "The Warsaw Concerto" which ironically was originally a film score.

A close second would be "Rhapsody in Blue".

I came home after going to my sister's to help her move her daughter's bed back into place (it's VERY heavy), then I had to do some work on my old computer and that got me looking at things and losing track of time.  I then realized that I left my tablet at work (I HATE it when that happens :P ) and now I'm up in my bedroom on my new computer. :)

While I was at my sister's, my niece asked if I would (also) help carry some boxes of her books up the stairs to her bedroom.  She had several heavy boxes.  Not was I was originally asked to do, but I helped moved the boxes.

So far, so good.  I haven't been on it too much, but it does just about everything that I expect it to do.  I just remembered that I still don't have Microsoft Office on it, yet.  I was looking at some documents that I have on a thumb drive and one I wanted to look at is an Excel file...but I can't open it here.

I copied it from my old computer, so there's no problem for me to look at it there, or even at work.  I'll eventually get MS Office on the new computer.

Fairly well, thank you.  I thought earlier that I might be getting sick, but now I think it is just old age.

Well, this is pretty cool:

Tacoma Little Theatre's 'Dracula' thoroughly engrossing.

Quote
Directed by the iconic pug Bujeaud, the cast puts forth uniformly excellent performances. There are no weak links in the chain, and the show has excellent continuity, as a result. A few performers stood out with particularly superb performances.
