Are you allowed to say "titivate" on a family site?

Yes, we won't be niggardly about it!

TOD:

That FBI Malware that required me to purchase something or other to get rid of it.

Instead, I reset the computer to its original default mode.  It solved the problem, but my computer was never the same after that.  I have since retired it.

Dissipating smells.

I'm all for this.

It means that once something that stinks has been removed...or has been allowed to set...

...the smells associated will dissipate...i.e. disappear...i.e., blend in to the surrounding's smells.

You can always cook something with garlic and onions to cover smells that don't dissipate.

But...then...you have to wait for the garlic/onion smells to dissipate.

That's when you can use a fan and leave doors and windows open.  Only make sure skunks aren't lurking by.

Skunk smells don't dissipate very well.

I have found that the new Febreze Air Freshener works suprisingly well in getting rid of odors, not just covering them up.

The final Act Two edits for Guys & Dolls are finished.  I've now got about 90 minutes to kill with a look over my VLA forms and maybe some work on an irchestration.

This weekend I have that choral commission to write.

I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.  Why am I up?  Because this house is literally shaking and has been since seven in the morning thanks to this teardown being torn down - I mean, like an earthquake shaking.  I am now going out there to film and record this monstrosity.  Since the huge machine that's doing this is currently in the yard of the monstrosity that was just built I think we know it's the same damn speculator.  Good luck selling that thing NOW - no wonder they were trying so hard up till now - no one will buy while this crap is going on.

Boy did we get lucky with the weather.  We had light rain Tuesday evening which was not a big deal.  Yesterday was beautiful. I did not even need a sweater.until the evening. Today it is pouring.

This afternoon has been busier than I expected.  After two and a half years of too little work, things are turning around. Whoda thunk it?

It's about time to head off to my appointment.  Crosstown bus to Lexington Avenue and then a bus to 52nd Street.

My friend Carol in upstate New York has been the proud recipient of 3/4 inch snow today. She's not happy.

Here's Jake Gyllenhall singing Finishing the Hat. He's really good.

That's definitely a nice problem to have!  Congrats, Larry!

Also, i see Daisy Eagan (who won the Tony when she was a child for Secret Garden) will be playing an adult role in Secret Garden at the Shakespeare Theatre in D.C., so that could be interesting.

I'd heard that she was playing Martha.  That would be cool to see.

Listening to a composer I don't know at all - a Lyrita CD I've had for fifteen years but obviously never played - William Mathias - beautiful English music.

Looks like that same Secret Garden production is planned for Seattle at the 5th Avenue Theatre in April 2017.

Hello, 1 guest!

I think from looking at the time of your post that that "1 guest" may have been me.  I was checking in on today's posts from another computer.

I always assumed that they're baby chicks.

We just had to make a pit stop, 40 minutes out of our way, to find out why's warning light went on.  Something did not reset after the fluid was added on Tuesday.

You cannot even fathom what this bulldozer is doing and how noisy it is, not to mention the shaking and quaking of this house, so much so that several things in the Blu-ray closet fell off the shelves.  I honestly don't know how much more I can take, frankly, and there are noise laws in this city and the police are in charge of dealing with it, and that includes invasive construction.
