I was never much of a Beatles fan.  I didn't dislike them, I just wasn't very interested.  I liked a lot of their songs, but I never owned any of their albums or singles.  If I was to pick a favorite, I would say the SGT PEPPER album was pretty great.

My music favorites were The Mamas and the Papas, and The Supremes.  I saw both of those groups in concert, and owned all of their albums.

I agree with this part of your post.  I never knew any of their actual albums, though.  Only individual songs.

My favorite group was and is The Manhattan Transfer.  I've seen them in concert more than a dozen times and I also have all of their albums.

TOD:  "Yellow Submarine" seems to be my earliest memory of the Beatles.

In Yeshivah, I recall that we students were quite taken with the version of "All Together Now" which had the title translated into many languages, including Hebrew.

DR George,  the best I have ever said about a beer is that I didn't hate it.  I think Keith would have liked the pumpkin beer.  Bryan makes different flavors.  I cannot remember if he has done pumpkin.

I first heard of the Beatles when I heard a radio broadcast of the Boston Pops-Arthur Fiedler recording of "I Want To Hold your Hand."  It was one of those moments you never forget - weird, I know! - because it occurred on a drive on the newly-built I-75 from Middletown to Cincinnati.  I immediately purchased the recording at Davidson's Photo Shop, where I purchased most of my recordigns. 

My brother Macbeth, who played guitar, purchased the first US album, and suddenly there was a plethora of Beatles magazines all over the house.  He had all of their recordings.  I think I only had the two tie-ins with "Help!" and "A Hard Day's Night" and the album with "Eleanor Rigby." Was that "Revolver"?

I have those Menotti opera LPs.  I'll have to clean them up and have a listen.  If they're in the shape I'm hoping for, I can make a damned fine CD transfer myself.
