Well, you've read the notes, the notes droned, and now it is time for you to post until the droning cows come home.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Up early to help Richard get our kitchen and dining room ready for his clergy study group to meet here at noon.  I'll clear out before they arrive because I have a couple of stops to make on my way to the grantwriters' holiday luncheon.

I woke up this morning thinking it was Sunday, so God knows what this misinformation will do to my day.

I have a lot of things to do here today: laundry, tidting, some Guys & Dolls work on this new piano-conductor score, and some work on The New Yorkers.  There will be an orchestra reading in mid-January to see where and how things stand on The New Yorkers.  Rob's goal is to have 12 charts ready by then.  I've now finished four utilities,  three numbers, and I'm on my fourth.

I'm glad BK posted about A Chorus Line on SACD because I ended up not having a chance to hear more than the first track yesterday evening.  And how weird it is, with Zack's "Sing out, Louise!" entrance from the rear of the hall.  Will listen to the rest today.

It's sad, but given this example, I suspect that MOST of the material re-released and newly recorded for multi-channel SACD will be found to be as gimmicky and "because we can" as the wacky "space age bachelor pad" stereo recordings from people like Dick Schory and Enoch Light in the late fifties and early sixties, and the quadraphonic recordings of the seventies in which the listener is positioned in the middle of a symphony orchestra arranged in a circle or some such.

DR Elmore, it sounds like Guys and Dolls has been quite the project.  I would love to see something of it sometime.  Is it a complete cleanup and Finale-izing of the materials?  Is the P/C score getting reworked, or just typeset (or whatever the correct word would be these days)?

The son of a friend from grade school through high school sings wth the Oakland East Bay Gay Men's Chorus.  my friend sent me a copy of their dec. 2016 holiday concert, and they performed my arrangement of "The Dreidel Song," which I wrote earlier this year.  I won't know how many performances it received until I see my royalty statement for 2016, but this may be the premiere performance.  I hope it went well.

Remind him who you are.  It seems years ago since I told him you might call him.

No good deed goes unpunished.  I decided to wash my kitchen rug, which is about 8x10.  It's now stuck in an unbalanced spin cycle, I cannot unlock the door, and I cannot get it to finish its wash.  So, I called the manufacturer and they told me to unplug the machine for 5 minutes.  We'll see if that helps.
