I also had the cast recording of STAGES and I wanted to get the rights to do it for Players Theater at McGill University in Montreal. I called Varese Sarabande and LACC to see if I could in touch with you to get the rights. I even wrote to you in care of you at ABC but was never successful in getting those rights.

I stayed up too late watching "A Place To Call Home," slept poorly, and woke up with a sore throat. I am quite sleepy and the gunk between my nose and my shoulder is making me quite unhappy.

In spring 1980, the Thalia - a revival house I still miss after 30 years! - showed The First Nudie Musical. I didn't know the film, but I was selling occasional copies of the recording at The Drama Book Shop. My composer friend Thom Heinrichs, who worked in the store's receiving dept., and I went to a showing around 6:30. The movie was part of a double feature, and I no longer remember the other film because we didn't stay to watch it.

Since the Thalia was only a block away from my old apartment on West 94th Street, I got home around 8:30, laughed about the movie, and went back to the final 10:00 show. The next day I raved about the film to everyone I encountered in the Book Shop. A young actress named Lila told me she'd gone to college with Bruce Kimmel, and I said something like "I want to work with him."

Fouteen years later, I did.
