Dear reader Jennifer's review (I'm presuming it's our Jennifer) is up at amazon - very well written and doesn't give away anything.  Check it out, and if you have read the book and haven't done your review, please take the time to do one.  They really help when people just wander on and happen upon the book.

DR Jane, terrific news about Echo!

In my DVD player: Samantha: An American Girl Holiday

Did you buy the DVD set that came with the mini American Girl doll?

Tonight I watched White Christmas.  I soon realized that my anxiety about being skeezed out by Vera Ellen's neck was needless because, due to Edith Head's costumes, it is never in view.

I think the "Choreography" number has to be one of the wittiest musical numbers on film.

Glad to report another successful and mostly error-free show. The audience wasn't greatly responsive. I've found Friday night audiences around here the most uneven, usually mediocre but occasionally rip-roaring. Tomorrow night's audience should be prime. Usually people are out on a Saturday night ready to have a good time. Friday night they usually seem worn out from the work week, and like they're vegging out in their seats. You know they're enjoying it; they're just not loud.

Have other performers here noticed anything about your area's audiences on particular nights?

We found Friday night's to sometimes be a chore, audience-wise, but our final two Friday's were amazing.  Same with Saturday night - sometimes sat there like loxes, sometimes tore the roof off the theater.

I sure don't know and I've been waiting that long for the answer, Miss Vickie's best friend! :)

How do you know when The Elephant Man has been in your refrigerator?

Because you find his footprints in the butter!

Good Evening!

Back from rehearsal... We got through the rest of the show, at least the main numbers.   There are still a few underscores we have to go through, but since the band has been called in for the 16 hours of tech rehearsals  next week...

In other news...

Arena Stage is having one of their fund-raising auctions.  Set pieces, costumes, scripts, and other memorabilia are being put for auction over at e-Bay.  And to tie in with the upcoming production of HALLELUJAH, BABY!, they are auctioning off "An Evening with Arthur Laurents".  Could be fun!  -Undoubtedly interesting.

If any DRs want to check out the items up on the block, just go to:

Why did the Elephant Man paint his toenails red?

-So that he could hide in the strawberry patch.

DR Panni - Great looking stove!  I have a Roper in my apartment in Richmond.  Not a double oven, six-burner one like you have... (I'm jealous!) but still a Roper.

We only have one oven rack which makes for slow going when I'm baking cookies since I can only bake one sheet at a time.  I've tried finding another rack, but no one in the Richmond area can seem to get a hold of the right size.  Our Roper is not vintage, but apparently the model and size is rare.

When I was looking up my stove on the internet, I ran across a few sites with Roper parts. You should check them out. Just Google "Roper Stoves" - or something of that sort - and see what you find.

SWW - I have an oven thermometer - but it's a good tip.

Jane - I'm "new" (again) to gas. Haven't had a gas stove in decades - so I have to get used to it once more. Fire and I are not friends, so it's a slow process.

As much as I'd like to be a late denizen tonight, I'm afraid I'm just going to have to settle for being a Wussburger.

Nighters.

I'm too pooped to pop and, conversely, I'm too popped to poop.  Poop, of course, is poop spelled backwards, which is only appropriate.
