I'm back from seeing "Rogue One" and having a late night appetizer at Applebee's.

How was the appetizer ....and the movie.

For the appetizer, I had the grilled chicken wonton tacos.  They were one of the happy hour half-price appetizers.  I'd never had them before but they were pretty good.

The original CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND was, indeed, a masterpiece.

The more Mr. Spielberg messed with the film, the less I enjoyed it.  Thank goodness, the original version of the film is still available.

I could've taken the day off, but I want to do the fiscal year roll-over and having so many people gone will make it easier to deal with it all.

Yes.  We normally get Christmas Eve day off, but since it's on Saturday (and I don't normally work on Saturday), I get to add 8 hours to my vacation accrual.

Not vacation time.  We can accrue up to 240 hours of vacation and I only have about 85 or so hours now.  We have no cap on sick leave, though.  I have over 1800 hours of sick leave.

Yup. that's 45, count 'em, 45 WEEKS of sick leave!

And for the first time, we negotiated into our contract that one a year (I think it'll be in January), we can convert sick leave to vacation time at 3-to-1...so 3 hours/days of sick leave can become 1 hour/day of vacation.  We can't go under a certain amount, but I don't remember the specific amount.

But you can sell back the sick leave when you retire, can't you?

No.  That's why this is significant.  It's technically better than the state who can cash in their sick leave at 25%, right?   This is essentially at 33%.
