Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

As far as I can tell from the television promos, HIDDEN FIGURES is the true story about how the Mercury Project, including the first US man in space John Glenn, was really accomplished by three sassy mamas who did all the work while everyone else at NASA stood around and wrung their hands......

That's not what I got from the movie preview, although the preview does push the sassiness and comedy.  I had the impression the film deals with the unsung people who went uncredited, possibly because of race, and who were as important to the success as the ones who got full credit.  I've been there. Several times.

That's how I interpreted it, too...except not "possibly" because of race.  Definitely because of race, and gender.

And here's a picture of the three actresses with pictures of the real women they portray:

Oh, and glad the heavier blouse I would have taken was a shade of orange.  I don't wear orange during the holiday season as it tends to clash with the decor.

Orange never clashes in Texas. It's the UT school color.

I noticed-lol

HERE an article on the book upon which the movie is based.  There's also a link to the Amazon listing of the book.

Are you sure?  The 4th Man only came out this week on Dec 27th

According to Goodreads it was Jan 3rd.  Either they were wrong or it was released early.

Got a new tortellini soup happening in the crock pot as the laundry spins, the dogs bark and lamps are being repaired.

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep and awoke (at eleven) to the news that L.A. Now and Then won an Eddon Award for Unique/Special Event - not sure how we were that rather than a production of a new musical but we'll take what we can get!

I've scored the verse to "The Great Indoors," and I'm on a break to open the mail, cart trash to the basement, and stretch.

Everything is practically sold out at the matinee today. Manchester by the Sea, sold out. Fences, sold out. Moana, sold out. Got one of the last three seats to La La Land because it's still 40 minutes away.

I just checked here and "Passengers" has seats available.  I'm going to the 7:35 showing tonight, but I'm going to get the tickets now so that we won't have to worry about it selling out.

The previews to "Passengers" looked interesting yesterday.
