I can tell you the one vile place I will NOT be this evening - it's called Facebook. I seriously cannot look at those posts - the same people who, at the beginning of 2016 said after two days Best. Year. Ever - and make those pronouncements, who, as the year went on, forgot they'd said it and then made it into, according to them, the worst. year. ever. And now they're doing exactly the same thing and it's not even 2017 yet. I'll be here where the fun is and where people are normal.

However, we went to Beaches tonight. I am feeling much better after a Margarita, edame, a small Beach House Salad with mixed greens, candied cashews, jicama, sesame seeds, grilled salmon, asian honey mustard dressing and a side of their fantastic french fries.

Beaches is two miles from us, that is two miles with no traffic. We got parking close to the entrance and we still bundled up against the cold.

It sounds good even though I am not a big fan of either cheese. I used to have allergic reactions to swiss, except I found baby swiss was ok, and I liked it. I had to make sure the cheese slicer at the deli's was cleaned first in case it slice swiss cheese before what I ordered.

Listened to Khachaturian's first symphony, which I hadn't heard. Quite nice. Now playing his suite from Masquerade. The opening waltz was instantly identifiable and must have been used in various films or TV.

Mostly I am seeing a recapping of the good and bad in people's years. I like that. Of course there are many good wishes for a happy New Year, a bit much to keep up with.
