They started their January can can sale at the local market today. All store brand canned vegetables only 34 cents a can if bought by the case (12 cans). I was able to get 6 cases for the church food pantry for just over $28.

Not bad.

I'm glad I'm here posting these notes. I narrowly missed killing myself, sister, brother-in-law and nephew last night.

This was due to an a-hole driver last night. The 1-95 towards Miami has express toll lanes which I was using. They are divided by pylons. There was an accident on the regular side and the a-hole driver to avoid the traffic backup drove through the pylons right in front of me. To avoid hitting him full on I swerved into the next lane (Luckily there was a second lane at this part) and side swiped another car. We pulled over. Very dangerous. We exchanged phone numbers. Got a picture of his license plate and moved on.

I looked at my car when I got home and there are minor scratches. I won't put in a claim. Will have to wait and see what the other person will do.

After the accident I continued to drive my nephew to Miami and we were in the car when the new year turned. Took me a hour to drop him off from the exit to the adress where he was going which it should have been 10 to 15 minutes at the most.

I turned around and drove home with all those crazy drivers. Which is why I don't go out on New Years Eve.

Oh, my goodness, Michael!  So glad that no one got hurt!

I played Tim Allgood in a local production more than 20 years ago.  It was FUN!

I've been writing away - six pages in so far and having fun.  But of course, as I wrote I began to think I'd made the wrong decision setting it in the first person - I felt that while it worked for the opening two paragraphs, even by page two it had become limiting and I was beginning to not like it.  So, I called Muse Margaret and after explaining it she completely agreed that third person would open it up more and be more fun.  So, I then spent an hour rewriting everything and adjusting it to the third person and it's much better now and certainly much easier because it feels more right.  I think I'll go do a jog, then maybe write another page or two.  If I get to page eight by the end of the evening I will feel VERY good about today's work.

And I've been cooking away!  My original pot of stock and beef is now four cauldrons on every burner on my stove. I just put in the carrots and potatoes. The cabbage and cauliflower went in about 90 minutes ago. In another thirty minutes or so I'll add the corn, peas, green beans and lima beans.  It smells quite deelish.

I've been listening to the 1950 Decca-London recording of Die Fledermaus conducted by Clemens Hrauss, and now I;m nearly finished with Hänsel und Gretel with Anna Moffo and Crista Ludwig as the Gobbling Witch.

I some how missed replying to Michael 's car story.  How scary!  I am so,glad you are ok. But what a shame about the damage to your car.  I expect the guy who was the cause  just drove off unscathed

Did a two-and-a-half mile jog, then rewrote much of what I'd written this morning, wrote two new pages and will definitely finish eight by the end of this evening, although I may just go on and get to ten pages, which feels right.  It took a lot of cutting and pasting to get the flow right - I kept getting ahead of myself, and then I'm trying to cover a lot of character history in two or three pages, and that was hard to get right, but as I finished page seven just now, it all felt really good, so onward we go.  I'll now start to get ready for the little get-together with friends.

I'm watching a motion picture simply called Simon. I missed it back in the day and I'm not sure I missed much. But I love the cast: Alan Arkin, Madeline Kahn, Wallace Shawn, Austin Pendleton, Louise Lassar, Adolph Green, Fred Gwynne, Max Wright and more.

DR Jennifer if you are more than half way through a book do you count it for 2016 or 2017?

Well I finished my book yesterday so I did not have that problem.  I personally would have marked it as done yesterday. Or I would go back and add yesterday's date as the finished date.  Otherwise it screws up the goodreads challenge. I want to start fresh on the new challenge starting today.

Since I'm not halfway through my book, it's part of the 2017 list.

Wacky Noodles- both with wide egg noodles and bow tie pasta, is ready,  Tuna pasta salad is out and ready.  And yet no one is here.  I could have used a little more milk for the two pounds of egg noodles - a bit dry they are but too late.

That is a shame, especially for a chef.  Vibes the newer treatments can keep it under control for a long time.

I feel the same way.  I marked my, more than half read, book last night for last year though I still had a bit to finish this morning.

That is what I'm hopeful for. I lost a friend at church, Bruce, to the disease about 18 months ago. Some of the treatments they have are revolutionary, but they just weren't in time for Bruce.
