I futzed and finessed only half the pages from yesterday's writing because I had to smooth out a LOT of things, plus add a few things, remove a few things, and smooth out a major thing that happened that I hadn't written well at ALL.

Then I went and had a chili, cheese, and onion hot dog and a few fries, then came right home.  And now I shall finish futzing and finessing and then try to write at least three or four new pages.  It's been pouring rain here, but the sun is now trying to make an appearance.  Thus LA.

I should have walked longer on the treadmill, it has been raining hard and Keith doesn't want to take his cold for a walk.

I've done three pages so far and in about ten minutes will try to do another three.

Five pages and time for a little break again.  Then I'll try to do three more, and that will leave three to five more to do over the course of the evening.  By the end of this evening I should be coming to the final sequence of the book, which I'm really looking forward to writing.

It POURED in my 'hood, too. During the night, a let-up, then it started pouring again when it was time for me to leave for acupuncture. Oy. I was pretty soaked by the time I reached the office. I came right home afterwards instead of stopping for lunch or errands.

Now the sun is out -- and BRIGHT!

I've been feeling a bit grumpy the last few days. I think it's today's Big Event. I have very, very deep concerns over what shall be happening over the coming months.

TCB, if I was about to have eye surgery and they wheeled the previous patient out on a stretcher I'd be VERY nervous indeed!

Kudos for staying calm and unruffled!

Vixmom, I read your Verizon posts. How awful! I had Verizon in Alexandria, VA for my two landlines. I had no choice. Every time it rained one of the landlines would cease to function. I'd call and complain, they'd send someone out, said someone would caulk the cable, and then with the next rain the cycle would start all over again. They CLAIM they'd fix it once and for all, but never did.

My next-door neighbor was charged every month for EIGHT YEARS for a line at her previous residence. She went round and round with them. Her son-in-law, an attorney, couldn't be bothered to help.

My opinion of Verizon? I'll let you guess. But given some of the positive experiences posted here, I surmise that the quality of their service is largely a local matter.

I currently have T-Mobile for wireless. I'm not happy with them. I had better connectivity with AT&T, who I was anxious to leave because of high prices and sometimes-awful customer service. But T-Mobile's customer service has been just as bad as AT&T's and I only save about $10/month.

I read about some smaller companies that rent space from AT&T and Verizon, but charge less. One is Cricket. I don't recall the name of the other. Has anyone had any experience with them?

My neighbor next door, who's never sick, has bronchitis. Another neighbor has MRSA. I am thankful to only be feeling a little tired!

I've been rewatching CALL THE MIDWIFE season 5. I do love that show. PBS isn't saying when season 6 will air.

Jane, if you're looking for another show, I liked Acorn's THE SYNDICATE: ALL OR NOTHING. Not as riveting as A PLACE TO CALL HOME, but a very good show. It's a lottery story with a twist.

I'm finishing SCOTT & BAILEY. Only two episodes left. I wish it wasn't ending. I don't know just what it is about the show that makes it compelling, but it is.

When I'm feeling stressed I tend toward film noir. And I'll take a good murder almost any day. I think sports is a way to release hostility and aggression for some, but it doesn't interest me. I like good drama.

John G, your employer has medical facilities on the premises? I'm glad you found a cheaper way to take care of some of your health care.
