I, on the other hand, am here in my warm home environment.  Although I will have to go out and eat at around two-thirty or three, then take the pages to Muse Margaret.

I am listening to a guitar concerto, which will be followed by a clarinet concerto, which will be followed by a flute concerto.

This geetar concerto is quite nice.  It's by Christopher Gunning, who is also a very good film composer.

Funnily, we have not heard one word from any of the folks who've been crying about our very long drought - wouldn't you think after these rains, which have been pretty regular this whole month, that they'd at least say "finally, the drought is on the mend."  But no, they don't want to say that, because that might just mean that the costs of water that have been rising into the stratosphere might not be justified any more, if they ever were.

I will not be found at either Staples or Jerry's today. I am HOME. It's been raining all day and many streets will be flooded. I shall be cocooning.

That is because Culver City has normal people.  Studio City has entitled, spoiled twits who cannot stay home for more than two minutes.  They MUST go out, especially if it's raining cats and dogs.

My kitchen sprung a new leak about 10 days ago. Our very reliable handyman came out the next day and did some caulking, but there's more to do and he won't be able to do it until things dry out.

Bruce, the snowcap in the Sierras was up to normal levels about a month ago. That's the primary measure of our water supply. However, not all areas of California have received enough rain. Santa Barbara is one of them. Northern California has received more than Southern California.

On April 1 the Powers That Be measure the snowcap and make an official pronouncement. Until then nothing is official.

Congratulations to MR BK!!!  I am looking forward to THE BOOK.  Interesting notes!  It was nice to read something on the internet that was NOT about Topic Number ONE.

 :)

But some of the sartorial comments were interesting, no?

DR CHAS SMITH - AutoZone seems to be the best place to buy a car battery - depending on the location, they may install it for free.

I'll keep them in mind. Thanks for mentioning that.

DR John, Keith said we already have RESTLESS on our watch list :)

Good news. Still in the first half, but I think you'll enjoy it.

Last night we attended a private screening of the movie version of The Zookeeper's Wife, which will be released in March.  It's based on Diane Ackerman's book and there was a talk-back with her afterwards.  One of the coolest things I've ever done at an ALA conference.

That sounds like a lot of fun. So does doing the march in a city different from your own.

Let me know what you think when you've seen it all. I liked the underlying story, but had some problems with the structure.

The way it's going back and forth in time? It's not great. But Michelle Dockery and Charlotte Rampling are always wonderful to watch, so the present-day scenes have some interest, even if the World War II narrative is more interesting.

The stove sparkles, i've had some burnt soup and I need to take my bath before I settle in for some telly.  As soon as Episode Two of Victoria ends, I must be in bed,  i have therapy tomorrow, then a trip to City Center, and then Rob Berman's birthday dinner.

The MD of the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music musical theatre program has emailed me twice today about the R&H rental version of the last Annie Get your Gun revival, which I orchestrated in 2000.  I have no memory after 17 years of much of anything that was done back then,

DR ELMORE there is a production of CHARLIE BROWN being done locally - in fact where MR BK's BRAINEX was produced - and all of the performers except one are just TOO old....it's scary to see the production photos.....but the Artistic Director wanted to do the title role, I guess, so he chose his friend to direct and of course his friend cast him......it's the same place that did PC SPELLING BEE and all the adults acted like they were "special needs" kids....

For example:

LOL!  You can go blind looking at that dress and hair bow.
