Back from Jerry's - was still crowded, but got my usual table.  I tried something I've always meant to - their pizza.  I'd heard it was very good and it was.  I couldn't believe it really.  Just one of those personal-size pizzas, so not too bad.

Last night we attended a private screening of the movie version of The Zookeeper's Wife, which will be released in March.  It's based on Diane Ackerman's book and there was a talk-back with her afterwards.  One of the coolest things I've ever done at an ALA conference.

That sounds like a lot of fun. So does doing the march in a city different from your own.

I confess that I did not participate in the march, but onto the duration in the convention center.

As the 3rd quarter of the Falcons' game started we walked up the street to Max's Pizza for dinner and a nice bottle of wine.  We stayed until the game ended and celebrated with the hometown crowd.  On our way back to the hotel we saw some dejected Green Bay fans, but figured the Atlanta fans were still at the stadium.  As fun as it was to be in a crowd during the game, I'm glad to be safe & sound in our room.  I think the streets of downtown are going to get wild tonight.

DR ELMORE there is a production of CHARLIE BROWN being done locally - in fact where MR BK's BRAINEX was produced - and all of the performers except one are just TOO old....it's scary to see the production photos.....but the Artistic Director wanted to do the title role, I guess, so he chose his friend to direct and of course his friend cast him......it's the same place that did PC SPELLING BEE and all the adults acted like they were "special needs" kids....

For example:

LOL!  You can go blind looking at that dress and hair bow.

And did they cover up her wrist tattoo for the show?  Hopefully, they forgot just for the picture.  I know that they're very popular now, but Charles Schultz's Lucy (or any of his characters) would NEVER have tattoos.

That is because Culver City has normal people.  Studio City has entitled, spoiled twits who cannot stay home for more than two minutes.  They MUST go out, especially if it's raining cats and dogs.

If you weren't also one of those entitled people out and about you would not know they were out ;)

DR John, Keith said we already have RESTLESS on our watch list :)

Good news. Still in the first half, but I think you'll enjoy it.

Thanks.

Let me know what you think when you've seen it all. I liked the underlying story, but had some problems with the structure.

Interesting.

DR Jane, it's been years since I listened to the book, so I only remembered the basic outline of the story.  The movie is beautiful, with Jessica Chastain as the title character.

Well, I need to be going now.  Tonight, I'm ushering for the tour of STOMP!  I saw them in NYC the one time I went there, and they've come to Olympia once or twice since, but it'll be great to see the show again.

Have a good rest of the evening, all!

I saw "Titanic, the Musical" yesterday at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA.   I enjoyed it.  I thought the cast was terrific.

My nieces girlfriend works there!

DR CHAS SMITH - AutoZone seems to be the best place to buy a car battery - depending on the location, they may install it for free.

I'll keep them in mind. Thanks for mentioning that.

Another vote for autozone, reliable battery, free installation and free disposal of the old battery

Back from a delicious steak dinner as part of Restaurant Week. These are the only times I can afford the high end Steakhouses, and I like is that the steaks are only 5 or 6 ounces. That's all I need.

Muse Margaret finished the book and I've had the call.  She had not one thing, not even a typo.  She said she got very emotional during the final thirty pages, and she truly loved the ending of the book.  And do you know what she said she loved most about it?  I'll tell you: It's positivity.  And the fact that there is not one curse word in the book, something I hadn't even realized until she mentioned it.  I could not be happier at this moment and tomorrow I will Xerox a few copies for proofers, including me.

Restless has a great cast at the mercy of a not-great script telling a really good story.
