Back from my first acupuncture session. Very interesting.

The needles didn't hurt, but to treat allergies was a bit of a surprise. Once I got used to it ( all of two seconds), I could breathe through my nose.

Wow!  I hope this continues to help!

So far I have seen four of the nominated movies and plan to see at least two more of them.

I tried to like the original Star Trek, but it was slow going for me.....  I really liked THE NEXT GENERATION....

My favorite episode was when TNG folks captured a creature that was only half Borg, and he was struggling to overcome his evilness while in a cage......

I believe that Borg was named "Hugh".

Today at work is going to be kind of sad.  My supervisor is leaving Timberland to go to work in Tennessee.  She'll be an assistant director in Nashville.  Good for her, but not for us.  She was a very good supervisor and made some really good changes.  We're having a going away party for her today.  I'm sure it'll eventually be fine, but it was almost a year between her predecessor retiring and her being hired.  Hopefully, it won't take that long, again. :-\

Have you applied for that job?

I want to thank all of the dear readers for their thoughts and vibes.  I am sad to say, however, that my Uncle Al passed away this morning from his injuries.

So sorry, DR JRand66.  I send my sympathy and condolences to your family.

I'm up, I'm up - been up since eight-thirty thanks to noisy builders.  Stayed in bed, then got up and had a visitor, and now I shall start the day.

I've seen 'em.  Several laughable nominations - all three Hidden Figures ladies should have been up.  The BFG should have been up for score.  The nomination for the score from Jackie is a joke - it was horrible.  All the nominations for Arrival are surprising because it was merely okay.  For me the most egregiously inane nomination is Nicole Kidman, who, for me, basically killed the entire second half of Lion.  And no nomination for the KID from Lion, but for Dev Patel instead?  The kid was amazing and so was the kid from The Monster Calls.  The actors branch of the Academy is pathetic and predictable.  They doubt they even see half the movies they're supposed to and they just choose the name.

TOD

Not good with the titles from the tv series but the two from the original are  The City On the edge of Forever, The Trouble With Tribbles.

The most memorable episode for me from Next Generation is the one where Picard lives a lifetime of another man.

The movies my favorite was #4.

Ditto on all of these!  I think I'd read that the episode where Picard lives another life won a sci-fi award.  I also loved the Deep Space Nine episode where they went back in time to the original series' Tribbles episode.  That was cool.

Beat you by one, Druxy. Saw Hell or High Water and La La Land.

I tied with you, John.  I've only seen "La La Land" and "Arrival."

I'm not going to say no...I'm going to say HELL NO!!

;)

Aside from the fact that I wouldn't want the added responsibility, I have neither the required experience nor the degree.

What I've eaten in the last two hours has been the very opposite of light and airy, and I'm repenting right now.

Back from a Chinese chicken salad and reading/proofing.  I've found a few typos, and I've smoothed out some awkward things that I hadn't caught - I knew there would be a bit of all that in the first thirty pages while I was finding my way.

This round of the bathroom ceiling is over.  I really like the new super and his wife very much, and, much as I liked the last super, I believe the new one is better at the job.

I have some pages to finish for The Drinking Song, and I want to take them to Joshie tomorrow.  My Encores! opening night gift for Rob Berman arrived today, so I'm happy that's out of the way.

Tuesday afternoon greetings from Athens, TN!  My cousin Perry picked us up at 10am and drove us to his home in Carrollton where we loaded our car.  We took him and his wife to lunch before they both had to be at the university.  We were on the road by 1pm and we're settled in for the night.  Home tomorrow!
