Earlier in the day we met cousins of Keith's in Portland.  Keith and his cousin met through their genealogy research.

Cool!  Last month ago, my mom found out that she has a half-brother back in Germany (they have the same father)!  He knew about her from their paternal grandmother (who died many years ago, and their father died in 2003), but only recently decided to contact her through FB.  He actually had (and sent) some pictures of my mom when she was a child that she had never seen!

 8)  Was she surprised when he contacted her?  Do they have plans to meet in person?

She was surprised.  I don't think she remembered her father.  He left when she was too young and went and had another family that she never knew about.  I don't know if they'll meet, at least anytime soon.  He's in Germany, you know.  We'll see.

The first mystery is a hoot. William Shatner plays a Rush Limbaugh-type sleazeball with a Judge Turpin-like interest in his ward. When a young man with mischief on his mind comes sniffing around, Shatner kills him.

Just read the synopsis for the musical version of February House. Sounds like the authors decided to play fast with facts, turning a compelling story into something cheesy and stupid.

I was looking at the IMDb listing cast list, and noticed that one of the actors (in only one episode) has the same unique name as a friend of mine, although my friend moved and I haven't seen him in several years.

Hmmm, maybe it is your friend.

It could be, but his FB page says he lives in Seattle.  But he has travelled and certainly can continue to.

I don't know if "When We Rise" based on real people and incidents, or just inspired by incidents of the times, but I like it.  I'll definitely watch the whole mini-series.

Just got some good news. The biopsy results show that whatever's is growing on my thyroid is not cancer. What it is they still don't seem to know.

Great news, John!

I am home from my wanderings today.

I dud very well with my taxes and I am getting a lot back.  This will pay for my trup to Ohio in May, and I am quite happy about that.

Great news, Elmore.
