TOD: Hmm. I never seem to get sick. If I knew what I was doing right, I'd let you all know.

TOD:

Garlic, Vitamin C in huge doses, Echinacea in huge doses, Zinc -- not necessarily all of these, but whatever appeals at the time.  Plus hot soup, tea, whatever.

I totally acknowledge that a couple of those have their detractors as far as their actual effectiveness, but I think if something "works for you", then it's worthwhile.  Another theory is that you should take a bit of Echinacea every day to aid your immune system, as opposed to just when you feel like you're susceptible to a cold.

I have this vague memory of reading an article which said that there was a study of the efficacy of Echinacea.  What it found was that it wasn't effective at all. :-\

Of course, maybe the study was too small a study to really draw larger conclusions, but that was the result of this particular study.

I had some sort of negative reaction to echinacea. Stopped taking it.

Good afternoon. We've been having rain off and on all morning. It rains, then it gets sunny. Then it rains. It was pouring so hard just a few minutes ago. And it stopped like someone turned off a faucet. Now it is sunny. And thundering. Very strange.
We were supposed to have gotten storms the past two days and nothing happened. Maybe you stole our thunder.

George, you said last night you were glad that Ryan Gosling didn't win.  Do you not like Mr. Gosling?

I do, and Emma Stone too, but to me their roles didn't seem like they were as challanging for them as some of the other actors' roles.

I agree, and my pick for best actress wasn't even nominated.

And I have read (on the bottle) not to take Echinacea if you have immunity problems.

Whew - Shawn just unwrapped the roll of vinyl flooring and I like it even better than I did when we selected it 4 weeks ago based on a sample at Lowe's!

Great!  Sometimes it works that way and sometimes it is "what was I thinking".

I am home.  Dr Gross gave me a knee injection.  I hope it helps the mess.  I liked him very much.

MEGA VIBES IT HELPS!  I am very pleased you like your doctor.

And the new fresh hell: when I called for a physical therapy session on Thursday, I was told that my HMO, who issued the referral, and my therapist are not working well together at the moment and now I have no therapist until the issue is cleared up. WTF?

I finally know why I read in the news that Brie Larson did not look happy when Casey Affleck won.  I am wondering how many people that voted for him were aware of the allegations against him.

Apologies to all for my confusing post about the Oscar necrology yesterday.  I had it in my mind that the deaths of Fisher and Reynolds were in January 2017.  They, of course, died during the last week of December 2016.

They are predicting storms/hail/high winds for us tonight with a threat of tornadoes from about 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Always makes for easy sleeping.

So, I called the producer at 2:30, left a message, and there's been no response.

I am passing on the political TV content tonight but I do hope the so-called president can muster up at least one coherent sentence that has nothing to do with his winning the popular vote or the size of his organ.
