That 128-incher isn't a TV, in case that's what anyone's thinking. It's a home-built projection screen mounted from the ceiling.

That's 16x9, and he later built another one in the "scope" ratio that's wider still, that swings down over it for 2.35:1 up to 2.76:1 films (there are only a few of the latter). These fill the wall of what used to be the family room in a raised ranch. Seating is at a proper distance and the picture is magnificent.

I bought my mom a 55" UHD set last summer. She refers to is as mine, but I've assured her it's hers.

I enjoyed watching TV on it this past Christmas. It is especially great for those 40s noirs....that Academy ratio image is nice and large on a 55-inch screen.

I am home after a good work session with Joshie. We had plenty on our plates today, and I think we work well together. Tomorrow, I stay home and work on what I brought with me from City Center.

Mine's an itty bitty teeny weeny ~~polka~~ 50" TV.

It's an astounding TV, one of the great Panasonic plasmas, but I totally blew it by not going for maximum size when I bought it. I didn't think so at the time, but that would have been perfect where it's sitting. Too late now. What will likely happen is that I'll someday fix the room up so I can do the same thing my friend is doing. I'd build the screen for a pittance as he did, with his guidance, leaving the projector as the single major expense. When you do this right, the projected image fills your field of vision the same as in a movie theater, and there's just nothing that comes close for a movie nut like the likes of me.

We went to our county seat - Hamilton - to pick up a certified copy of our marriage certificate. Then we went around the corner to Main Street Cafe for lunch and to Almond Sisters Bakery for some treats. On the way back we stopped at Home Depot for towel bars, cupboard handles, TP holder, and switchplate covers in shiny chrome to match the new shower fixtures. Then to Bed, Bath & Beyond for a paper towel holder that resembles the Corian shower walls. We also looked there for a chrome towel stand, but I had to come home and order that online:

My previous (which was also my very first) HD TV was also a 50" Panasonic plasma. It was a display model and I got a good deal (at the time) for it. It totally just crapped out on me a couple of years ago, but I got some good years' use out of it.

Performance at 2:00, so I'd guess talkback will be finished by 5:15; the cast has to break for the evening performance.

I will probably go to 55" when this tv goes out. I don't think I could go much larger because there is only so far I can get from the screen in my current TV VIEWING situation.
